Over the weekend the mountains south of town got a bunch of snow. Going out this morning and seeing them white made my day. The Highland Mountains, covered in snow, in the early morning sun light is maybe my favorite sight on Earth.

I think the mountains picked up 4 or 5 inches. That was above 8800 feet because the mountains east of me are that high and didn't get snow (or, if they did, it was gone before I saw it). Down here, we just got rain.
Cool. I love the fall. All the leaves have changed here already. A light dust of snow higher up but fall is early this year. The Seagulls have left already which is a sure sign and the gorby tourists are finally leaving. The Walmart parking lot is only half full of cement campers
Ooh yeah first snow is funny! but after two weeks it's no fun no more! We haven't got any yet but its really really cold! Time to check flights to warmer places!
That does sound beautiful, keep it over there.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I have to get out and see if the aspens are starting to change. I think the KOA campground is the most lucrative business in Butte. From April Fools Day to Thanksgiving the place is packed, between the ice-off fishermen, fly-fishermen, regular tourists, bow-hunters, rifle hunters, etc...
