    Default Tyson at welterweight.

Tysons speed, defence, head movement and power have to be an issue for everyone..

And perhaps discuss any of the other legends at a chosen weight.

The myth of Tyson is far far far far far greater than the fighter was. He had amazing physical abilities but not only was he a nutcase while his knowledge of the sport was superb his ring smarts were practically non-existent. He was a robot. They called out numbered combinations and he followed orders.

If he were a welterweight he still would have great physical gifts but he'd be facing technically superior boxers that would expose his limitations mentally.

    That's bunch of crap hahah

Tyson was VERY stable when proper people were around him. He had a unique fighting style that would be a surprise for many many great fighters. Yes, without further adjustments, somebody would figure him out like Razor Ruddock and may even beat him.

If he could have carried his power down, he would have been one of the hardest punching heavyweights to ever fight at welterweight. Fact.

Hypothetically, if Mike Tyson were scaled down his welterweight opponents would not have the huge size and strength advantages they did at heavy.

How about Tyson at cruiser weight? That's a bit more realistic.

What fighter beat him in his prime?

    Pre buster?

    Technically superior?

Mike Tyson's technical abilities were fantastic while he was with the team that understood the number punching system as you pointed out.

His footwork and head movement are among the best ever. His jab could land easily on undefeated 6,5" defending world champions.

Who in the welterweight division or any division can avoid getting hit just with their head movement? Rather than clinching?

Ok but say Tyson went vegan and did lots of cocaine in his prime, and then had one of his legs amputated to actually make 147. would he have had a punchers chance against some top guys

Tyson would be very short, if we say the average welter weight is 5 foot 8 inches then Tyson would be 5 foot 3 and other than his punch power most elite welterweights would be able to avoid his punches.

Huh? Cus's numeric system was genius and it was even more genius when you had a guy built the way Tyson was with a borderline psychopath brain makeup which was most likely learned. Unlike most fighters Tyson could take instructions and apply them in real time and execute that numbering system in just about any sequence you could come up with. Tyson was robotic in the way that he could memorize those sequences.

If you could transfer all of his qualities as a fighter to welterweight, what you would have in my opinion would be an unholy cross breed between Barbados Joe and Sam Langford. A killing machine.

Watch the video below. Mike cutting the ring faster than Golovkin, he looks far more fluid.
