Let's carry the idea a bit further.
If Ali answers his call to the draft and goes to 'Nam...
If the Ali-Foreman fight had been called by natural disaster after the first round...

• (Ali devoted the early rounds to "rope-a-dope".... so he would've lost on account of inactivity).

If Frazier's allowed to come out for Round 15 of the Thrilla, and Ali doesn't answer the bell on account of being totally worn out and beat up inside by thunderous body shots.
If Ali gets robbed of the gold medal in the Olympics... becomes disenchanted with boxing and quits.
If the Mafia had told Ali to take a dive in the 2nd Liston fight, instead of Liston.....
