Default Danny Garcia vs. Victor Postol

    The fight is on.

The purse bid is now cancelled as they have reached an agreement. The date is TBA.

Edit: Fight is off for now, looks like Postol has been paid to step aside.

Who's that guy? Haymon's stable are fulla shit. Garcia is losing major respect from me now.

Postol is a very good fighter.

In fact I think he'll box Garcia's ears off and deserve a decision win, but then be robbed on the cards.

It's actually a dangerous fight for Garcia. Honestly, I think that Garcia's team is doing a poor job at picking opponents. Postol isn't bad and is a live dog in there. If Garcia wins, he probably won't get as much credit as he deserves.

Is Danny moving up in weight after this fight. He has been saying he would do so for a while. I haven't heard of this opponent either, what's his record. Danny won his last couple fights but hasn't looked great doing so.

Postol looked decent against aydin but looked to be lacking power, sooner or later Danny will have to fight someone with power again wtf...and apparently he's going to have a voluntary defense prior to facing postol, maybe the much anticipated rematch with rod salka. I have a feeling he might do his voluntary defense and just move on up to 147

Postol was paid step-aside money. Garcia will make a voluntary defense first. Perhaps against Lamont?

yea its pathetic. is it just me or is Dannys team turning him into a laughing stock? Loses to Herrera in a gimme fight, beats a nobody, avoids his mandatory. I really dont rate Garcia and believe someone like Postol could beat him. Looks like his team think so too

I hate it when fighters say that, even if it's true. Maybe he didn't know who Herrera was either, until he lost to the guy If you're a world champion fighter, would it kill you to make yourself familiar with potential challengers in your weight class?

No, he should at least know his mandatory or any threats.

My only thought is shouldn't we find out who he's fighting next before we slate him too much?
If he's paying step aside money, that tells me that there's some good money on the table. In turn that tells me that he's gonna fight someone decent, so ok, it may be Peterson, whatever people think of him, at least that would be a unification. Or it may be Broner, that I would love to see cos I reckon that would finish Broner off! Maybe even a rematch with Khan? ( no way would Khan take that, ha!)
One thing I will not stand for is if he fights a bullshit fight with Peterson at 1 or 2 pounds over the limit so nobody loses their titles. If that happens, I will be the first one to rip into Garcia!

Not surprised Garcia is going around Postol. The guy can fight and the risk vs reward factor is low. If Garcia can get a good pay day vs Peterson before moving up I'd be ok with it.

I agree. If he's facing Peterson in December than I understand the point of waiting on Postol. Peterson is arguably a tougher challenge anyway.
