Is this a first for Hopkins having a 24/7?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Hop is small for that weight. Just makes you appreciate how special he is. Kov is a beast for sure. He will be tough to beat. Still, with a baby on the way to distract in the biggest fight of his life? That is bad, especially with Hop, who maintains a razor sharp focus, in the other corner...
I think this will come down to whether Kovalev's power is that special and whether John David Jackson can neutralize Hopkins' strengths. Kovalev has been knocking guys out left and right with not even fully extended punches. If his power is truly that incredible, Hopkins might wilt. I doubt it though. I'm going with BHOP.
Bhop by a close decision points win
Bernard will be going to the hospital after this fight and it won't just a precautionary trip. It will probably be his last fight.
Has b hop ever been put down?
Mercado put him down twice in their fight in Ecuador.
Pascal also put him down twice.
Dawson put him down in their first fight.

Yes he goes down in the fight, twice and before that was 1994 according to the commentary. It wasn't a heavy knockdown it was behind the head the shot that landed for the first
No drug testing before this Hopkins fight. Seems to be the norm for him...
Just watched it. I can't help but like kovalev. I think that he is the real deal and think that this is the end of bhop. Kovalev is such a beast. Bhop will only be able to take his punches so many times even if they aren't landing cleanly.
Watched it Saturday and have to say I have a new appreciation for Hopkins state of preparation for fights. The whole alien thing is as numb as it gets but at this stage he can come in wearing a bonnet and Wood clogs and you'd be a fool not to take him serious. Likewise I don't think Kovalev is in awe or whistling past the graveyard in false confidence like many of Hopkins opponents have.
