Well, I think most posters here would agree that we were pleasantly surprised over the last 2 years with world champion Terence Crawford. Only one word truly defines him, and that he is just a "special" fighter. Has the potential of being that once in a lifetime fighter in his weight division.

Bob Arum has yet again given us a top quality fighter. Say what you will about Arum, he knows how to pick quality fighters. Aside from Mike Alvarado, everyone else in his stable seem to be top notch both skills wise and mental wise.

With that being said, Crawford deserves to be built up into a rivalry with another top Lightweight or Jr. Welterweight in order for us to appreciate his greatness. He must win in order to be considered great.

Who fits the bill?

Mikey Garcia is moving up. If they continue to build him there are some opportunities for a mega showdown.

Danny Garcia, since he will not step up to take on Keith Thurman at Welter, he most likely will not face Mayweather, and the Pac fight while appealing is not a life defining fight with implications due to the fact that Pac's juice has been spent with Marquez and now with Mayweather, he can accept the fight hype build up.

These are the two foremost names out there, aside from a few other notables, that Crawford deserves to be built up over the next 2 years to a mega fight with a lot of money on the table IF all remains constant and they all win out.

For Mikey it is a possibility. For Danny, it is a little tougher. Crawford can win out, because his back is not as marked yet as Garcia's is.

Thoughts?
