Cassius Clay and the USO Tour

Should the Heavyweight Champion of the World travelled with he USO Tour in
1964, to help spread good will to the American Troops stationed all over the World.

Many of the USO Tours were scheduled for the friendly Islands of the South Pacific,
where the United States had many air-bases which were used to transport goods
to 'the needy' on the isolated Islands.

Cassius Clay used the excuse,

That he was uncomfortable to fly in an airplane. That is why he did not go on the USO Tour.

Sounds like........... 'chicken'.
