Default Callum Smith - World Champion within a year?

Maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here, I'm sure you'll all let me know. He's due to fight Rebrasse next, then they're looking for the winner of Groves v Jack. I know the guy he beat last night is a Journeyman , but his punching is crisp and accurate, he has power , his timing is great, and he is massive at the weight!
If Groves beats Jack, I'm not sure whether he would want to fight Smith straight away. There is a big gulf in experience, but I do think this kid is gonna just keep getting better as he goes up the levels. Thoughts?

I didn't see him last night but from what I have seen in the past he definitely has a lot of potential. world champ in 12 months may be a little premature though I

I think you're right. He's fighting Rebrasse next for WBC Silver title. If he gets the mandatory position for the WBC then I'd fancy him to beat Groves or Jack. Groves without Adam Booth has looked like he is going backwards.

Rebrasse fight is a cracking matchup, after seeing him with Groves. Be a statement if Smith does a number on him.

He looks a future "world" champ, but doubt he'll get a shot within a year. Seeing how tetchy Groves is with Eddie, I hardly think he'd fancy risking that fight if he wins the belt.

That's a good point about Hearns relationship with Groves, and he probably won't get the shot so soon, but that was just what Hearn said Saturday. Of Course, Groves has to win it first.
