When you consider everything, Floyd has had the greatest boxing career in the history of the sport.
Undefeated, MUCHO dinero, minimal brain damage. Whipped all his adversaries.

Ali looked good in his last 2 fights huh?!??!
And he looks to be in good health now too!
Pactards... So stupid!
Ali may have YOUR respect but he can't wipe his own ass.
I think Floyd's happy with his place in life. He's TBE and rich and self managed and still has his brains and health intact.
Morons!!!

Lets see if Floyd is healthy, wealthy and wise at 75 years of age.
Will he be remembered? TBE my ass.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Correct el doctore'.
Nobody is walking around 'now' saying that what a wonderful fighter Floyd Mayweather is.
Even in the Gym, nobody is talking about him.
He's already forgotten. .......... 'Old News'
"Yes, I know what it is like to be forgotten about. I'm somebody too, or at least I was."

I'm huge Mayweather fan but I wouldn't say he's T.B.E. I do think he's overly cautious, almost on a paranoid level. Even his father in the corner was saying that he was fighting almost scared at times.
But that's his style.
To hit and not get hit and he's mastered that art down to a fine science. "Pop, pop, tie him up, pop, tie him up, if he get's close", put the rounds in the bag, rinse n repeat and remember if was that easy everyone would be doing it.
Funny thing is. I think if Floyd would have stood toe 2 toe with Manny his accuracy and power and timing. He still would have won. He's the much bigger and stronger man.
You are not going to get toe to toe out of Floyd in the ring. It's not who he is, he doesn't do 'extra' to keep the fans happy.
Like you said, Floyd does enough to put the rounds in the bag, if he thinks he's losing a round then he steps it up. He does what he has to to win, nothing more.
It's puzzling in a way, outside the ring Floyd is a real risk taker in my opinion (breaking with Arum, promoting, switching his bad boy image to the businessman, saying what he wants, and helping friends out with loans and cash gifts), but inside the ring he'll always be that cautious control freak. Interesting person!
I agree 100%. I feel like Floyd had all the advantages (skill, size, strength...etc.) to take over late and push for the stoppage by walking Manny down. That would've been worth the money and the fact that he didn't push himself at all on that stage is why I will never consider him TBE and why I won't buy another PPV with Floyd as the headliner.
You stick to watching old Butterbean fights and leave the sweet science to people with some intelligence.
Does it really pay to pander to the fans and fight stupidly? What does it get you in the end?
Meldrick Taylor had world class boxing skills but chose to brawl to pander to the fans, and look what happened to him. These guys end up taking too many punches to the head and they're punch drunk and have no quality of life after boxing. People love excitement and risks... but we hate losers. As soon as you lose, everyone says you were exposed, overrated, and people lose interest.
Floyd played it perfectly in the end, at least inside the ring.
