If so, could he make the fight close??
I hear he's been reported to have been calling out GGG lately and wonder why. He is not so good against pressure fighters and GGG is arguably at his best, against movers.

I think he could, for sure. I'd bet on him going the distance.
In doing so, I think he'd give up most of the rounds though and it wouldn't be a close fight.

Lara has been calling for GGG for a while. But at the same time Andrade is calling for Lara and Lara is fighting..... I can't even recall who he is fighting. So maybe he only calls out GGGs name to get attention. Because he has a title fight calling for him in his own division but he doesn't want it.
I don't think a mover will beat GGG anyway, he is too good at cutting off the ring. But GGG stops fighting 1)when he is hit to the body, first noticed that against Adama i believe it was the 5th round when Adama hit him with a hook to the body and GGG didn't throw a punch for over 40 seconds. We saw it again against Monroe but GGG is very good at hiding his discomfort you don't see it at all on his face. You can only tell by a brief step back then he quickly decides he can't show weakness and starts forward again but without throwing. 2)when he is forced backwards, he simply does not throw punches in these rare occurrences. I wonder if it has even happened enough in his career for him to bother to prepare for it.
GGG tips his punches by moving his left elbow away from his body when he is going to throw the hook. If his elbow is tight he is coming with the straight punches. He's done that his whole career so I don't expect it to change now. So don't look for a fighter like Froch to beat him, you need a thinker like Ward that will pay attention and will back GGG up. That gets you into the fight, winning is another matter. It will take a damn good fighter at his best to beat GGG.
i think that its possible but not likely. as bean said, if he did last the full 12, it would be because he was trying to avoid a knockout and not focused on winning. lara doesnt have a great chin and ggg would eventually catch him.
I don't think he could last, and if he did it would be a boorinnnnng thing to watch. Angulo gave Lara fits and he fights in an aggressive style like GGG (2 levels below GGG and without his defense or facial structure around the eyes).
I do think Lara's style is a difficult fight for any fighter who does not apply pressure. GGG is all about pressure.
I hope it happens. GGG can say everyone is ducking him but there is a genuine class fighter calling him out. Make it happen.
Well GGG really has nothing to gain by fighting Lara. Lara is a crafty guy but he's a weight class below and he isn't even the #1 guy at 154. Lara has no real right to be calling GGG out.
It's time to get the cowards at 160 to get in the ring with GGG.

I dont think so. Lara looks a bit chinny to me. GGG stops him early to mid rounds.
No, GGG stops him mid way. Too light and not strong enough.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Not by defending against Delvin Rodriquez he wouldn't. Seriously who is making these fights Angulo had that bullish style and temperament but the speed of a parked bus and he dropped Lara hard. I honestly think Golovkin would beat him up down the stretch. Bad match for Golovkin as you don't want to always be mentioned or looking under you for guys to division jump.
Lara has little chance a fine boxer as most Cubans are,! GGG just walks him down and stops him
in about 8 rounds.
eris-Candy La-La sure knows how to run and stink the place out, he's about 2nd to floyd mayweather on that one. I think he could stink the place out and last 10/11 rounds with GGG, then get stopped or maybe make it 12---------boring fight as all hell to watch it will be.
