Default Fights in which you KNEW the underdog would win.

Hopkins over Pavlik. I remember the entire Pavlik camp being all cocky and overconfident, claiming they were going to knock Hopkins out, which was mind-boggling itself (Have they even watched BHop fight before?). Of course Bernard proceeded to teach that kid a boxing lesson. It wasn't even that hard of a fight for him.

    Mayweather over Genaro Hernandez

    Chris Byrd over Evander Holyfield

Wlad over Sam Peter I (easy looking back on it but at the time EVERYONE thought Peter was going to win)
    Wright over Mosley
Thompson over Solis I (Tony wasn't the underdog in the rematch)

....not sure what other ones I've called....Cotto over Abdullaev which was a rematch of an amateur bout that Cotto lost.

Calzaghe/Lacy. Everyone now says Lacy was shit, but they were all picking him. Calzaghe was always a league above a face first brawler. Boxing experts are a bit like leading economists. They have the loudest voices, but the rich are richer because they work for the machine.

I'm sure everyone on here had Williams as favourite over Winky. I also thought he'd beat Margarito.

I picked Margarito to beat Cotto, Hopkins to beat Tito, Cook to beat Arthur and on a much smaller scale I remember people were raving about Bradley Pryce getting a world title shot and I told my friends Matthew Hall would destroy him and knock him out.

I don’t really think any of these are big upsets. I think it was more the one sided-ness of the underdogs victory that was most shocking.

I think the Mayweather – Hernandez is interesting in that, amazing to think that at the time Hernandez was a strong favourite to win that fight. Probably the only time in Floyd's career that he entered the ring an underdog.

O – Right, yeah son. Well unless you are above 70 years of age. I highly doubt that you picked Ali to beat Liston, never mind foreman

If I were around during Cassius Clay's early career, I would have picked him over Liston. Not by stoppage though. 15 round decision.
