Default Mickey Bey has given up his IBF Lightweight Title

Mickey Bey gives up IBF lightweight title | Boxing News | Fightnews

He turned down $220,000 for the fight and let it go to purse bid. Arum was the only bidder and bid $78,000 which is shared. He didn't want to go to China because he would have only made $58,500 for to fight Shafikov. Is this a duck or promotional politics?

    Kid Ovaltine 2.0 or 0.5.

All we need is Barthelemy to ko Shafikov like Lee did to Korobov and then somehow Bey getting a shot next to fight for the title he dumped.

Mickey Bey is a horrible fighter to watch and was very lucky to win the belt in my mind. Dont see how he can turn down 220k for a fight. Its not really a great division at the moment so no big money fights for him and with no belt hes not a guy other champs would pick as a voluntary defense. Wouldnt give him much of a chance against the top 140 guys if he decides to move up

Bey gambled and lost but turned the fight down anyway. Boxing business and politics. Only time will tell if he made the right decision.

I've only even seen him against against Vasquez, but I couldn't care less if he gave up the will to live based on that "fight". Does seem weird for a guy as boring as he is to pass on anything, but he is under Mayweather promotions so he'll probably get a good opportunity or two.

True. The fight was terrible to watch but Vasquez should have won. Bey was going to lose to Shafikov anyway.

This is the framework for Jim Lampley yelling "multi time champion" to deafening silence. He is J'leon love waiting to repeat
