The Killing of Farkhunda (something to cheer everyone up)

This recently happened in Afghanistan. Muslim woman gets in a little argument with a muslim man, because she thinks he's being un-islamic for selling verses of the Quran on the street. He starts shouting out -- "This woman is an American and she has burned the Quran."

What happens next is beyond mental.

Hundreds of superstitious backward thinking savages turn up ("educated" students, shopkeepers, coppers (who do nothing) and whatnot). They not only torture her to death but drag her body through the streets - whilst naturally screaming "God Is Great" - stone her, run her over and then set her on fire. Poor funker is dressed in claret long before they finish her off.

Her parents, for their own safety, have to go on TV to say "She was mentally ill."

How can a religion that SAYS it's peaceful, that SAYS it respects women, that SAYS it honors women, allow for this?

That was a he'll of a mini documentary, well done. I've stated here I am a man of religion and love my faith, having said that if I see someone on the streets burning a bible, and I know this girl did no such thing, I may call them an idiot or something but that would be about it. I can always go out and buy another bible. The Taliban spent years getting Afghanistan to live in the 1200's.
