Default How who u rate higher in your ATG list Floyd or B-Hop

Now that his career is (apparently) all said and done, while the other hasn't quite retired yet, I just wanted to know who you guys would rank higher in the ATG list, Floyd or B-Hop?

I have Floyd higher on my P4P ATG list, but it isn't by much and I can see a solid case for a debate. Most people on this site think of Hop around the time of the Taylor/Joe C. fights through present time. This isn't representative of how amazing and great Hop was during his prime. Many also hold a couple of his early losses (his first fight and the decision loss to an almost prime Roy Jones jr.) against, and don't realize how superb the man who dismantled Tito Trinidad was in the ring (or how formidable an opponent that prime Tito was).

Where Hop has Floyd beat hands down is level of opposition and completely cleaning out middleweight (where Floyd never did at any weight he was at). Where Floyd has Hop beat hands down is consistency in wins, natural gifts (hand and foot speed), and amateur pedigree. They are both very close in terms of skill and intelligence in the ring, with only guys like Andre Ward, James Toney, Rigo...etc. possessing similar/near capabilities.

Historical accomplishment/relevance is also very debatable between the two, with Floyd retiring undefeated at 49-0 and winning multiple titles in multiple weight classes and being a champion for 17 or 19 professional years of fighting. Hop holds a record 20 successful middleweight title defenses (ripped off vs. Taylor IMO), and the first fighter in history to completely unify all titles at a weight (WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF). Additionally, Hop won the lineal light heavyweight title 3 times, and twice became the oldest man to win a championship (breaking his own record one of those times). I can see a case for either guy historically, and in my opinion both are top 20 ATG fighters, with Floyd ranked higher on my list.

Hop really has had a phenomenal career, and you should youtube some of his prime fights, especially the Tito Trinidad fight, to see what a complete/perfect fighter is. Hop evolved significantly from the high output/volume, strong chinned, one punch thug that he was early in his career through the Roy Jones Jr. loss and Segundo Mercado draw (another rip off). Where Floyd was able to polish his skills in the amateurs, Hop had to learn his craft on the job. Floyd is a masterful fighter and ATG, without a doubt. With that being said, if you could magically make both guys the same size/proportional speed, on their best nights (Hop vs. Tito, Floyd vs. Hatton) it would be tough to separate them (IMO).

We had this debate already in another thread and the consensus is that Fraud wins.

Hopkins had around 100 amateur bouts before he went to prison.

100 amateur fights?!?!? I don't recall ever reading where it was that many, but even 100 isn't significant compared to guys like Floyd, Oscar, Roy...etc., who were world class amateurs. I'm sure if those 100 were mostly state and local level, maybe regional, with very few national and none world class level. So, the point still stands, Hop developed as a pro, where the others were much more polished coming out of the amateurs.

Floyd. BHOP was great but there was no one better or ranked higher than Floyd Money Mayweather.
