    Default young and optimistic

I'm 13 years old and i was just wondering if you think it would be orite if i joined a boxing club when im 15 and just for now kept fit?
i live quite far away from the nearest boxing club but i know how to throw jabs and stuff, i train every night apart from tuesday and wedensday. I have a heavybag, speedball weights (wich im told not to do) and a skipping rope.

maybe he means a speedbag, but he weighted it down. which you shouldn't do, it's not a power bag, so you shouldn't treat it like a heavy bag, keep it how it is.

I think he just missed out a comma between speedball and weights lol.
You shouldnt start actual boxing training (heavybag) by yourself, you need to get properly taught how to throw the punches correctly (you might develop bad habits which wont be helpful when you start properly).
Try to get to the boxing gym if you can, but if not work on running, skipping, weights (they do any damage, just dont lift too heavy if your 13) and any other cardio (bike, swimming etc), speedball's probably ok to use as well because it more about arm endurance than technique.

you must a comma? Who cares? :P

You should see some of the grammar on here. If I see a thread called 'How to get good at fast and throw punch hard' I expect a guide on speed and power... what I usually get is some one asking 'how to get good at speed and danger power!?' thats a statement not a question... not to mention you get little or no info you can use to help them :P

Ringside - get to a gym and learn how to do it properly. The trouble with boxing is that if you try and teach yourself, it works for a little while but then you get found out by someone with more efficient technique. This happens to even the most experienced fighters.

The reasons the Cubans win so much at amateur is that their techique is exquisite.

Easy for me to say, but do you live near enough to the gynm that you can run there?

PS - seriously don't worry about your grammer. Wait until you meet some characters on this forum (eh, Adam GB?). Anyway my gramma can't fight either as she keeps tripping over her dress

Nah i couldn't run there, but I'll keep looking for transportation. For now I'll just keep fit by doing weights, I'll keep doing the speedbag.

Weights = strength and Muscular Endurance, not fitness as a whole.

Get out and do some roadwork, some bag work and some good conditioning drilsl like burpees etc.
