    Default Head Guard

Decided as part of my stocking up on new kit, id get my own headguard, not a fan of the gym ones as they stink and have other people's blood in them and are just generally a bit minging.

Main aim is to stop black eyes so I don't look a state for work.

    Any suggestions from these?

In my book all those aren't that great. They impair vision and slide off easily.

Personally, I am using TopTen headgear with cheek bone protectors. The material is very hygienic and absorbs hits much better while giving you a healthy feeling of getting hit. It doesn't lure you into a false felling of being able to take punches. 100% free vision and it does not slide.

If you are still looking I would go with the second one down, I have one quite similar.

The third one was no good for me. Not sure about the fourth, looks like it would give your nose protection. My goals are the same as yours don’t really want to be at work with a black eye.

I kid you not, we had a fighter who never could find the right head gear, and he started showing up in a football helmet, complete with a face guard. We first told him 'No way in hell..." but the other fighters said let him do it..so we did. No one got hurt hitting him, and in time, he moved into going pro, and he gave up the helmet and went back to head protection approved for boxing.
