Default Terence Crawford- Needs A+ Competition!

I think it's safe to say that you can't beat Terence Crawford on your average night. You probably can't beat him with your average fighter on that fighter's best night. You need to throw the best of the best of the best at him, and then they need to be in their best condition, best frame of mind and best skillset to have a chance to beat him.

I think this is NO Floyd Mayweather, where the judges are being "nice" to Crawford- see Mayweather/Castillo 1, Mayweather/Oscar DLH and Mayweather/Judah.

ALL of the times I have seen Crawford out, he fought to win the fight in the best possible way he can. Last night against Hammerin' Hank Lundy was no different.

Lundy came to fight. If Crawford had fancied, round one could have been as good as Hagler/Hearns INFMAOUS round one. A round one to remember. But Crawford, at his new weight, didn't want to risk a firefight not knowing what would come back at him later on down the fight. So, do you know what he did? He boxed, waited, was patient, stuck to his jab, and when he felt comfortable with what was coming at him- he pressed the button and went in for Lundy.

By the third round Lundy had no chance. It was pretty much over. Crawford had him timed, set up, and it was just time from there on in.

Needless to say: Crawford needs better, stiffer, stronger and more talented competition at Jr. Welterweight. No disrespect to Lundy, he came to fight! But Crawford needs more.

So, now that Crawford has "settled in", who's next? The Danny Garcia's (on everyone's hit-list), Thurman's or whomever has to say now?!?!

The Welters are busy calling each other out, so that serves as a convenient excuse to avoid him. He won't see any of the top guys at 147 for at least 2 years.

Besides, he's building his own brand and his star will shine on its own...to the point where HE will be the money guy. Their gonna need Crawford more than he needs them.

Any person who thinks that Floyd lost against Oscar or Judah doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.

Crawford isn't Floyd but he is damn good. The overall point of the OP is correct. Crawford is one of the very best in the world and it will take an elite fighter fighting an elite fight to beat him.

But why list Welters? Crawford isn't at Welter yet

Because people are already trying to rush him up in weight.

He should get there but he hasn't even fought the best at 140 yet. And none of the best at 147 fight each other, the idea that they'll be itching to fight Crawford doesn't fit with their history.

Let's hope he starts fighting the best at 140 now so it doesn't take too long though.

Who is elite at 140 besides Crawford? The guy looked like a Jr Middle last night.

So I suppose he could go to 147 and wait out those who are waiting out. Join that group of over protected posing primadonna's that do nothing but flap their gums and say Al Haymon.

I was just saying that. And besides, he looked gaunt at 140 as well. He is going to destroy himself if he keeps weight draining. I can see it on him.

The Jr. Welters and Welters are all the same these days. They change weight more than anyone else.

For him to withstand the shots from Gamboa, Crawford would beast through the 147 division.

That's what I'm saying. I don't even see someone beating him on his off night, and certainly not by KO. He just is too well schooled and for the most part comes in OVER PREPARED for regular fights, let alone big fights!!

    Can you be over prepared?

Crawford is a southpaw most of the time now.

Crawford knew he had the fight in the bag and was fighting as a southpaw as practice. Kind of like a football team trying out new plays because they are well ahead.

That makes sense and is like Tyson Fury when he fought Chisora.
