Just that
Just that
A sad loss; one of those people that was icon, and that is not cliche. Something had been wrong for a while, but still 57 is too young now a days.

That is shocking!!!
Loved Doves Cry.
Wow.
RIP. This year there have been too many legends dying.

This ones a shock.
This truly sucks. What an artist. Incredible musician/ song writer. Man could that Kat play guitar. Left handed like Hendrix. Big part of my party years.
It's just one after another of Celebrities dying since Bowie in January.... Crazy
Love Prince, always a mystical dude who no one really knew too much about but made tune after tune after tune, he was red hot on/against youtube too which is why loads of his tunes can't be found on it.
When i was djing full time around 15 years ago i never left home without a breakbeat remix of When Doves Cry that i got on white label which was one of the coolest tunes i ever bought - nobody else had it as there was only about 50 copies on the planet - used to have people come and ask me to drop that tune every time i played in a club
Legend and a Massive part of being a kid growing up in London for me.
Present for all the Prince fans

I don't know about his music, but what a horrible year for musicians. Really famous and influential musicians. Not much you can say really. 57 and almost out the blue.
Never bought any of his stuff but I was always impressed with his musical ability and writing. At least he left something that will be remembered, I'll merely leave a rotting corpse.
Never really listened to Prince honestly but have always been 'surrounded' by friends that loved his stuff. Clearly inspired artists across the board and from so many different styles. We're not even halfway into this 2016 and it feels like it is working overtime at taking the one's we watched from youth.
In order to play with an R & B band in the 1980s you had to know some Prince and Morris Day and the Time.
Soft N wet was a song that literally moved me to music. ..before I knew the artist's name.
Bought every album up till...oh Sign O The Time.
In short, I'm hurting. Over someone. I never met
Seen him live. Gave me confidence to play guitar.
Man, Im hurting.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
It's just shocking really. Really similar to Bowie in that it was so unexpected. With Prince it seems so sudden and by the sounds of it he was a really fit person. It seems so unusual that you can have flu symptoms and then collapse dead like that. I totally get what you are going through, Slim. You don't know the artist, but you feel that kinship through the work and what it has meant through your life.
It has become ghoulish to me now. Every day someone dies. I see people like Paul McCartney and Iggy Pop and they are so old and you don't want them to go anywhere, but you are going to hear one day that time has been called. Isn't that so depressing? I guess it is natural and normal and part of the circle of life, but you spend your young years invincible never thinking about it, but it starts to permeate your every thought as your heroes all start to vanish.
It could be exhaustion he just worked and worked. He did everything producer, performer, director, writer - a true artist.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
made the odd decent song
more of a pop artist really
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
