Although I'm definitely picking Crawford to win, I wouldn't be shocked to see postol win. Postol is a good fighter that is long which is a stylistic match up for many people. Especially since Crawford seems to be the longer fighter in most of his fights.
It's just hard to pick against Crawford because he is a great talent, but postol has shown that he is a solid fighter.
It will be an interesting fight. Postol took shots from Matthysse, but I do think matthysse was just loading up trying to outgun a fighter going up in weight and that made him seem horribly one dimensional and flat. Crawford could be a lot more offensively creative than that but i do wonder if Crawford is setting himself up by taking Postol lightly as Postol could also be more offensively talented than some of his past opponents.
I think it'll be who steps up and handles the unexpected better. I have a feelin that crawfords going to come in bigger than postol and that will allow him to throw with postol while perhaps taking some ugly shots. He might not look as good doing it but i somehow see him giving better than gets, mostly because of the weight. I also have a hunch that we could see postol turn out to be a one hit wonder type. Not sure why...
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Interesting take. At a glance it would appear that Postol is bigger and he does have a longer reach by 4 inches and is almost 6 feet tall but Crawford was coming in at 152/153 when he was a lightweight. I just think Postol has been simmering while all the stars get all the hype. I don't take all that much out of that Lucas fight on how he matches up style wise with Crawford. As you noted Matthysse reduced his chances by looking for the one shot and didn't seem to have a plan B. Crawford has a pretty full tool box. I just have this feeling that Crawfords mind is a little in the clouds and the height, reach and unorthodox style of Postol is going to win on this night.
I'll be rooting for Postol, but I think Crawford will likely win.
I think Postol's long layoff may be a factor.
The promoter of both Bob Arum will want his younger US-born boxer to win. And let's face it, the American officials are going to be on the side of the American boxer - I can't imagine Postol being given a fair shake by the Las Vegas judges, he'll need a KO to win.
I just hope there won't be a crooked referee like Lawrence Cole or Jack Reiss working the fight.
The better fighter will win without interference. I doubt Crawford has earned that kind of play. He is only a big name in his hometown
IMO.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
If you are claiming it was a premature stoppage, Floyd landed a barrage of uncontested punches. Angel NEVER fired back. The ref gave him plenty time to retaliate or even take a knee. If Manfredy wasn't affected by Floyd's shots, he should have responded in some type of way. That was on him.
you make some interesting points
I doubt it though

I've not seen a lot of Postol, but I've seen a lot of Crawford, and that makes me think Crawford will win. Still if Postol is as good as people are suggesting, you have to admire Crawford for taking meaningful challenges.
I don't want to go overboard, but I do think he is the real deal.
Crawford or Postol?
Crawford is very good but he gets bummed by americans as the next big thing coz America is a bit short on talent

Postol is a nightmare but has been brought along to look good against brawlers. I think this and the gamble that a long lay-off will leave Postol tight at the weight, is why the fight is happening.
As long as Crawford doesn't try to force anything, get frustrated or do anything silly then it should be a UD win for him.

No mate, Crawford IS top notch, that's why they rate him.
He fights Southpaw, orthodox and you wouldn't know no different, he's technically very good although he can also have a war and is a spiteful fucker. And he's a big guy as well. Fuck knows how he used to make lightweight, but he totally outclassed Ricky Burns and now Burns is a so-called World Champ at that weight.
Crawford is class.
Good call if you get this right. It would be a huge upset as Crawford has looked flawless so far.
