Default Hughie Fury fighting Andy Ruiz Jr.

Just saw this slated for Wlad-Fury undercard. Assuming everything goes through and Oct. rematch comes off this is a pretty interesting match up. Ruiz has to get through yet another 40 yr old opponent first and then it's a title eliminator. Big step for Fury all things considered.

I would say fury has fought the better opposition than elephant seal JR , the HW limit is unlimited but I still not sure Ruiz can make the weight .

This is a massive test and a big jump in class. Strange management from Fury's team.

Theyve tried better names than this for Hughie.

Ruiz just doesnt really have much else going on.

It will be an interesting fight. Ruiz has good combinations and is one of the most skilled (although clearly lazy) american heavies but I dont think he will get too close to Hughie.

He's a bit of a lump is Ruiz Jr, from what I have seen of him someone with a decent skill set should be able to get past him quite easily.

That being said who knows what he could do if he shed some of the lard that he is carrying

Is the Wlad-Fury rematch really happening in Oct? Hard to care anymore, but this would be a decent undercard fight. Ruiz has nice hands but he's to small and out of shape to get close or make it a high paced fight, though I haven't seen a whole lot of Hughie.

Indeed....I guess they think Ruiz is the weakest guy with the best record they could add to Fury's resume.

    Have they?

Ruiz's career IS in a bit of a plateau

Ruiz is actually Mexican as far as I can tell, born in Mexico at the least...wouldn't want America taking credit for a Mexican fighter.

IF this fight comes off and Ruiz lands anything clean he'll win

Say what you want about Andy Ruiz Jr...but when one of his fat hamhock fist bounces off of Hughie's empty noggin don't come crying to me the kid has power and decent timing.

Was going to watch Ruiz fight near Fresno on the undercard of Rey Beltran this weekend...but GGG is fighting and my favorite mma fighter Alistair Overeem is challenging for the UFC Heavyweight Title, so I'm going to stay home instead.

Watched some highlights of ruiz and he certainly has power and talent.

I think the Liakovich fight showed his limitations. Liakovich was completely washed up and he struggled with him.
