Looks like we here in Puerto Rico missed the worst of Hurricane Matthew, but Jamaica and Cuba are in for a direct hit. Matthew's a Cat. 4 now, so God help the people in its path. Man... these storms are tiresome. There seems to be a storm factory just off the West coast of Africa, near the Cape Verde islands. Not every hurricane comes from there, but the ones that do... and they're frequent... get a good head start and turn into fearsome hurricanes.

Kinda wish I had a gigantic hacksaw so I could saw off that part of Africa. (I'll probably catch some flak on that one). Anyway... I shouldn't complain too much. At least we don't get any tornadoes, and quakes although frequent are never too serious.

No blizzards, either.
