TBH, I didn't read where Hulk claimed Kirkland is "good"..... only "dangerous early." Nothing wrong with that.

By virtue of being a big puncher. Puncher's chance and all that. He crashed and burned against Canelo, but he threw as well as received during those first rounds. Being dangerous isn't the same as being good. It's like in baseball. You can be a lousy hitter with homerun power. You might strike out 7 times out of 10, but on one of those 10 you might connect and hit a 500-foot homer.
Here's a nice challenge for all. Since I'm an idiot and I regularly call out shitty mismatches. Like all the time. Someone tell me just one that didn't go exactly according to the plot. It shouldn't be hard to think of one if II'm an idiot right? Good luck
I just want to know how Cotto is still ranked 4th by Ring in a stacked 154? I mean I know how but how . Kirkland was a full frontal force but burned out quick. Ron had it and frankly he's a guy now brought in to make a guy look devastating, almost a Mayorga role but Mayorga was a better fighter and actually punch resistance. Not knocking him for riding a rep but he peaked at Angulo and I can't get beyond listening to him try to form sentences after Canelo punched him numb. Knocks on Cotto really, either piss or get off the pot and again he looks to reset in a showcase. Anyone in their right mind think he runs with the Charlo we saw Saturday It's just a payday to guarantee Cotto sees at least one more for himself.
For the record, I'm not defending Kirkland's choice as opponent. But how is this any different from any other fighter with a storied career wanting to milk what's left of it, and get out with maximum profit? The double standard with this guy continues, and probably will as he rides off into the sunset. I will say this: He may be fighting damaged goods now. But he got off to a fast start from the beginning of his career, and fought some very tough opposition throughout. I won't get into calling out other elite fighters active now.... but we all know how different careers stack up.
Cotto will win this one easy unless he just allows Kirkland to hit him.....(ahem @TitoFan )
Kirkland is done for, he's 32 he's a power punching pressure fighter, his days as anything other than "an opponent" are done, over
Wolfe has just joined him for this fight. Hmmm
