    Default KingRy

Good young prospect to be aware of his 'King' Ryan Garcia out of Victorville, California. After 15 national championships as an amateur, and going 215-15, he turned pro. He was 6-0 fighting in Mexico, then signed last November with Golden Boy. He has had two fights with them; he is 8-0 with 7 at age 18. A tall lightweight that moves well, fast hands.

One to watch. At 18 he holds all sorts of potential. With Golden Boy behind him he will have a great platform to launch from.

Always amazes me watching these professional minded kids turning pro in a hard road sport at an age when some of us were ditching class and passing around a smoky bent can under the bleachers. 8 fights in 8 months, good on him and with gbp and their new deal with ESPN he's likely to get much exposure.

He started at seven, never went to a gym. His uncle, i think, trained him in his garage. They would travel around for sparring.

He won't go far with that elevated chin, on top of that he has poor defence with looping punches. Holmes had a looping right- hand punch yet one thing that Holmes had which this kid lacks is a snappy jab.

He is in the co-main event on ESPN, 2 November, I think. He has sparring with Santa Cruz, Linares and Lomachenko.

ESPN have done a deal with Fishnets too? So they've gone from FNF to deals with Top Rank and GBP?

KingRy won by 3rd round too, very nice outing for him. 12-0 with 11 Kos, 8 in a row. Also on the card Hector Tanajara Jr won, unanimous, 8 rounds.

his hands are fast because his punches have no follow through.

man this guy throws every jab like its a bullet. its not about throwing every jab like its a bullet. its about having a nice and steady jab so you can fill in all the dead gaps and read what a guy is doing when you jab. you throw your jab so fast you cant compare how a guy is moving and reacting to every moving part of your arm when you jab. you need to be able to read that.
