I remember the last time I was in one of their establishments. I had a voucher for about 20 dollars of free stuff and went in there and had some coffee and cake. I felt like a really seedy man being in a place like that knowing that it is against everything I believe in. All the customers were around me talking, drinking their coffee and seemed to be having a good time, but I felt really bad inside like I was doing something unholy. I never went back again.
I feel unclean knowing that the workers are kept on low pay and have no rights and you know that the profits go straight back to the nasty stiffs who buy shares. There is something in me that cannot reconcile such a system. If they were a cooperative and you knew it was a groovy place I might be tempted to go back and buy a brownie, but until that day they are on my boycott list along with Saudi Arabia and McDonald's.
