It appears Beterbiev has a fight coming up late July against this Koeling guy. In the future, this fight with Smith needs to be made from a fan's perspective. Both are huge punchers, but Beterbiev is more polished. Who else wants to see this one?

I'd be for it, but beterbiev has been so inactive for not having very many fights. Smith also needs to stay active to keep himself relevant
I see it as a mis-match to tell you the truth. I'm not sold on Smith's power. Beterbiev ain't doing himself any favors with the stretches of inactivity. I think Beterbiev rolls through him.
Possibly perceived that way alongside Kovalev. But for me the most dangerous guy is Gvozdyk.
Why is Beterbiev so inactive? Injuries? Promotional Issues?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
The last I read, he's trying to leave his promoter which is always a hassle free engagement and wont in any way mean a prolonged period of inactivity. Critical time as well. He's right on the edge and needs a nudge over the line.
Agreed with Alpha, Beterbiev would take Smith apart. Smith's a strong guy with a decent dig, Beterbiev a different beast altogether
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Even with two huge scalps on his belt still so many unknowns on Smith. Only loss was a turning of his back job and not sure about the jaw still. Fully expect he'll need more depth next month vs Barrera, power alone will not beat that jab.

Here's the catch up on beterbiev, very good read
That is a long article Tam but essentially he has been injured comes from a deprived background.
I rate him highly and hope he makes loads of money and wins the title. If he fought Kovolev/Adonis it would be a barn burner of a fight.
I think he is skilled enough to give Ward problems too.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
