I didn't see the speech, but read about the Iron Dome and it sounds even more outlandish and ridiculous than the medieval wall that is supposed to cover all the US-Mexico border and eliminate the illegal immigrant problem.

Trump obviously lives in a fantasy world devoid of any sense of practicality. He shoots bogus claims off the hip without a moment's thought or analysis... and his millions of Minions lap it all up. SHAME on Biden, Obama, et al for not having built that Iron Dome by now!! Let's MAGA!! Fukking cheerleader has every snake oil salesman in the history of the world beaten by a mile. This guy's dangerous. From gargling with Clorox to beat the virus... to medieval walls (sans moat)... to Iron Dome systems over the entire U.S. Next he'll claim we can build a tunnel to the moon so we can extract whatever useful minerals they have over there.

Interesting telegraphing of strategy by Trump in todays rally. Label the Democrat clearly undemocratic for trying to "take it away from Biden after winning". Had to see this coming a mile away. And technically he's not wrong . He really wants it to stay Biden

It isn't staying Biden then. And he isn't just handing it over to Harris but hard to see anybody credible challenging her this late. Hopefully I'm wrong. Trump isn't just going to call this undemocratic, he's gearing up to challenge any election result at state level that doesn't go his way and at national level too:

The Republican Party and its conservative allies are engaged in an unprecedented legal campaign targeting the American voting system. Their wide-ranging and methodical effort is laying the groundwork to contest an election that they argue, falsely, is already being rigged against former President Donald J. Trump. The campaign involves a powerful network of Republican lawyers and activist groups, working loosely in concert with the Republican National Committee. Many of the key players were active in Mr. Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election. But unlike the chaotic and improvised challenge four years ago, the new drive includes a systematic search for any vulnerability in the nation’s patchwork election system. Mr. Trump’s allies have followed a two-pronged approach: restricting voting for partisan advantage ahead of Election Day and short-circuiting the process of ratifying the winner afterward, if Mr. Trump loses. The latter strategy involves an ambitious — and legally dubious — attempt to reimagine decades of settled law dictating how results are officially certified in the weeks before the transfer of power. At the heart of the strategy is a drive to convince voters that the election is about to be stolen, even without evidence. Democrats use mail voting, drop boxes and voter registration drives to swing elections, they have argued. And Mr. Trump’s indictments and criminal conviction are a Biden administration gambit to interfere with the election, they claim. “As things stand right now, there’s zero chance of a free and fair election,” Mike Howell, a project director at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, said at an event this week. “I’m formally accusing the Biden administration of creating the conditions that most reasonable policymakers and officials cannot in good conscience certify an election.”

Last time out about 150 Republicans voted against certifying the elections including about ten Senators. This time it'll be every single one of them unless they want to get hanged. Mitt Romney said a load of Senators would have voted to impeach him the second time which would have rules him out of standing again but they were too terrified to do it. That will be even more the case this time. Luckily it looks like we won't have this problem this time around but we will if there's a fair election in 2028. So things not looking promising on the free and fair election front now. One side either wins or refuses to accept they lost.

It doesn't have to be serious or credible. It sounds great to his supporters. It's hard to get more than half the electoral college votes on a platform of massive tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy and the deregulation of their businesses so historically a huge amount of GOP electioneering has been terrifying voters with fear of the other. Trump knows his market.

It's easy for Israel to intercept Palestinian rockets as they're essentially flying drainpipes. Anything relatively modern easily defeats the best tech available. The last serious tests of an American missile defence system was during the Bush administration. The missile defence people even had the flight paths of the incoming missiles ans still couldn't stop them.

The entire Trump platform is incoherent garbage. Just a bunch of things that sound great to voters* but make no sense as a set of policies. He's going to bring in huge tariffs to create huge new manufacturing employment in America but slash legal and end illegal immigration when at a time of full employment you'd need to massively expand the workforce to fill all these new jobs created. He's going to keep the dollar as the world's reserve currency but also significantly devalue it. Devaluing the dollar would trigger significant inflation as Americans pay more dollars for their imported stuff and of course tariffs do the same and of course throwing millions of workers out of the country do the same but he's also going to cut inflation (that's already subsided to pre pandemic levels). And so on and so on.

*The reading and maths skills of the average American is sixth grade. Eleven years old. Half the country is below that level. So these are not people making informed decisions based on sitting down and analysing the data. He had Hulk Hogan at his convention. Trump knows his market.

The Yankees have three good players and the biggest collection of shit you can imagine. It's like watching the A's with three decent loaners. The A's have won more games than the Yankees recently.

If Harris did somehow win the House is GOP controlled now and there's no way the Speaker will even bring election certification up for a vote if he isn't guaranteed that every Republican will vote against certifying the election.

    Unlikely she wins though:

Trump and his allies are outspending Kamala Harris’ team 25-to-1 on TV advertising this summer. The stunning disparity reflects reservations that will almost certainly change in the coming days. But for now, the numbers highlight a dangerous imbalance for Democrats at the very moment that millions of voters are re-shaping their opinions of the vice president, who has spent much of the last four years in Biden’s shadow. Despite the fact that Trump is going to put American workers first and stop the rigging of the economy in favour of the wealthy elite this wealthy elite are donating hundreds of millions of dollars to Trump to get him elected so he can reverse the gains they've made and donated and fought for over the decades. Very selfless of them all.

"Trump faces outrage after telling Christian audience they won’t have to vote again"

Why are people outraged? Is this kind of shit somehow a surprise?? This is the same Trump who years ago made the infamous (but prophetic) claim that he could "shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue... and people would still vote for him." Is ANY of the sewer discharge that comes out of Trump's mouth somehow unexpected by people??

C'mon, folks. Get with the program here.

This is the guy who sowed the seeds of mistrust MONTHS before the 2020 election. He had his Minions convinced the election would be stolen from him BEFORE it happened. Then he cashed in on his prep work by agitating the mob that invaded the Capitol. This is the guy who has made it abundantly clear that he's going to (cough) "fix" the electoral process so he'll never lose it'll never be stolen from him again.

Now he's front and center about his intentions.

... and his FUCKING MINIONS STILL back his candidacy!!!

It's a real shame the crooked all-lied-under-oath conservative faction on the Supreme Court blocked the January sixth case from happening before the election. Here are Trump lawyers and campaign people trying to hand over documents produced by slates of fake electors in tipping point states to Mike Pence. If they'd succeeded and Pence had actually gone along with it imagine how bad things could have got. Keep scrolling:

It would be really good if the liberal media would give this a bit of coverage. Maybe let Americans see what a bunch of fucking crooks these people are. I mean it's only the republic at stake here. Nothing's riding on this except the First Amendment, freedom of the press and maybe the future of the country.

Due to how luckily for the GOP voters are distributed in swing states Harris will need to be about five points ahead nationally to win the election. Biden was ahead in the popular vote by 4.4% and won three states by a combined total of 55000 votes out of millions. 55000 the other way and Trump would have won even when he lost the popular vote by nearly five percent. Hillary won the popular vote by 2.1% and lost because Trump won three states by a combined total of 75000 votes out of millions. It's probably going to come down to small margins in three or four states again and getting from where she is in the polls to a five point national lead is probably a bridge too far for Harris.

If she does win these fuckers are not going to certify the result. The GOP control the House for one thing, in 2020 the Democrats did. They're not even going to bring it up for a vote unless they know they're going to win. There could be an epic constitutional crisis and nationwide disorder six months from now.

If Trump does win despite the fact that he's a tribune for the American worker and will stop the rigging of the economy in favour of his wealthy donors he was responsible for this corporate tax giveaway and the first thing the GOP will do is extend it.

    https://twitter.com/mattyglesias/sta...44007676178631

Apparently five trillion dollars in new corporate tax cuts over the next ten years with the 2017 law made permanent. That's some real money. Expect the stock market to surge as the increased profits get handed out to shareholders and pumped into the stock market bidding up stock prices. Expect the deficit to surge too as that tax revenue now becomes private profit. Expect upward pressure on interest rates too due to the Treasury having to borrow five hundred plus billion a year more. Will Trump sack the Fed chair and appoint some nut to keep interest rates down? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
