The majority of Americans elected a convicted felon who cannot even cast a vote in a national election and last week was simulating a blowjob on a broken microphone in front of thousands. You simps. House senate and Oval, one party rule. So much for divided Government and checks and balances on elected officials. The grand experiment has gone over the falls.

I don't care who or if you vote for, anyone running on "Immediate mass deportations" while hugging a flag is a threat to all. Welcome to your "may I see your papers citizen" era Murica. Well, shit we actually already did this with legal Japanese citizens didn't we . Lessons learned and all. Or not.

The only lipstick on the pig of hope was to have it end in splitting the house, oval office etc. To be completely frank I don't think half the people moaning about "my groceries are too expensive" understand just how fast a wanna be authoritarian with now unlimited unchecked power...thanks SCOTUS...can tear it all down to shreds. The irony of so many over 50+ yr old pseudo tough guy goofballs whoring for politicians to fulfill their anarchy dreams of tearing down the State. Just wait until they're paying 20 bucks for a 12 pack from Me-hee-co. We messed up permanently making politics a team sport. Duped and bamboozled. Ask yourself what does a body of power do when they run out of active political opponents. Where do you think and upon whom do those grievances turn.

After the Yankees made such an impressive job of the World Series I skittled off to Ireland and have watched it all unfold from a nice safe distance.

It's no surprise he won, he was just the beneficiary of a throw the bums out electorate who are pissed off about inflation and interest rates. Incumbent governments worldwide have been booted out of office since inflation took off in 2021, often losing in huge landslides but always badly. The Conservative party in Britain just had their worst result in a century. The American result was quite close by comparison. I'm not saying the Democrats are any good, they need a total overhaul and Biden wants shooting for not stepping down and having a proper primary.

But Trump is a disaster waiting to happen. It's going to start off well. Inflation has dropped to normal levels and so now interest rates will come down putting money in peoples' pockets although a lot of people voted for him expecting prices to drop. He's going to get an economic boost from the one thing we can guarantee is going to happen, a five trillion dollar tax cut.

Other than the corporate tax cut I wouldn't put money on anything else he promised. They'll start throwing illegals out but it'll be a lot of sound and fury. They can't throw ten million people out of a 160 million workforce out of the country unless they want massive inflation, shortages of goods and services, businesses on short hours because they can't get the staff and so on.

It'll be interesting to see what he does though. He's going to trumpet every bit of good economic news. Record this, record that. He's really good at that and Obama and Biden both were terrible at it. Look at the graph from his last time round. We're going to see the same thing again when nothing special is happeneing. Last time his first three years in office produced millions less jobs than Obama's last three but he knows how to sell shit.

The other thing we're guaranteed is that five minutes after he takes office his entire administraton will become a chaotic, shambolic, seething mass of criminality and corruption. No fucking way are these guys ever going to risk a rule of law government gaining power in the future.

Look at the prices here. I actually went in a supermarket today and was shocked at some of the prices although it has been years since I did anything like actually go in a shop. Butter! I'm sure you can get cheaper than three and a half dollars a can (plus a deposit, like pop bottles when I was a kid) but still.

There's gonna be the usual finger-pointing by the losers of an election. The Dems are doing it big time.

All sorts of reasons are going to come out. The economy... Biden leaving late... immigration... etc, etc, etc.

Morning Joe, and all sorts of talk shows on CNN and other TV stations are going to be talking about this for the next month or more.

    Hand wringing on steroids.

Fact of the matter is it wasn't even close. Trump basically steamrollered Harris. Won the popular vote, to boot.

    What does this say?

That people will put up with a narcissistic, serial liar. That people will put up with an egomaniacal, emotionally-challenged individual with the public speaking skills of a 5th grader. That people will put up with a divisive, racist, compliment-seeking dictator.

All they care about is what they perceive to be their economic situation and their perceived future.

Shitloads of MAGA fans don't have the slightest idea of what's best for the country... and frankly couldn't care less. They just give a shit about themselves. Like Trump does.

Now everyone can buckle their seatbelt for the next four miserable years.

The Democratic party is a shitshow. One of the main aims of conservatism in the last century was to wreck private sector unions in America. This was entirely to allow big business to take a bigger share of national income but it had the side effect of diminishing union power and say in the Democratic party. Basically the party has gone from a blue collar union party to a fancy pants educated coastal elite party. It's been an incredible result for the GOP, an amazing two for one.

Having said that, if the last four years had been Trump's first term and the exact same Democratic party with the exact same policies had been running against Trump after being out of power during the inflation years they would have won with a bigger victory than Trump managed. It's all down to inflation with a side order of immigration, but exit polls showed immigration was far down the list of issues people were concerned about. It was basically inflation.

By the time California finished counting it'll be close in the popular vote. You're only looking at a couple of hundred thousand low information voters in half a dozen states who switched sides that decided the election, and similar numbers in every other state. These people will be waiting for Trump to take office so that grocery prices go back to 2020 levels.

Donald Trump announced on Thursday that his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, will be named his White House chief of staff.
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” the president-elect said in a statement.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/07/p...aff/index.html

Susie Wiles is a lobbyist. She kept her registration as a lobbyist while she was running Trump's campaign which might have created a few headlines before 2015 you would think. Certainly a whole load of ethical issues there. Many more when a registered lobbyist is going to be chief of staff in the White House.

    Drain the swamp. Oh yes.

How the Democratic party went wrong. Keep scrolling:

Add onto this the groups. All the bloody political activist charities/nonprofits funded by liberal elites to campaign for social justice or racial justice or action on climate change or whatever. Pet issues for liberal billionaires that they support by funding these fucking groups who in the absence of union leaders telling them to knock that lefty shit off dominate Democratic policy discussions these days. And they're all lockstep on all lefty issues so you have a climate action group that has a policy position on Israel Palestine and racial justice and tranny swimmers and so on.

There are loads of righty groups, second amendment, abortion and so on but they know to keep quiet and out of the way and not make a fuss or any headlines when it comes to elections. All the abortion groups shut the fuck up when Trump said he wouldn't sign an abortion ban because they know the first job is to get elected. Democratic groups are at best counterproductive and at worst massively damaging to winning elections.

I wasn't even looking at the polls in this election. Unless Biden or Harris had been up ten points in the battleground states I was assuming Trump would win. I was watching consumer confidence/sentiment numbers. I knew they were going to have to shift or it would show that people were still feeling crushed by inflation. They didn't shift. The Selzer poll was the first ray of light in the whole campaign. I didn't expcet Harris to win in Iowa but Trump won it by ten last time, even if she was within about five points of Trump in reality it would mean she'd win PA, WI and MI and the election.

    Oh well.

A few days ago I posted this:

Look how much it's turned round in a couple of days:

It'll be interesting to see which outlets producing all the doom and gloom economic stuff in the media turn round and start producing best economy ever stuff and how long it takes them.

Trump could basically just go and play golf for four years and have a successful presidency. Inflation is down to 1.2% annualised rate in the last quarter, interest rates are coming down, crime is down, border crossings are right down, economic growth is fantastic, oil and gas production at record levels and so on. Look at all this:

    https://jabberwocking.com/donald-tru...esidency-ever/

He'll be claiming the credit for all of this and the type of voters who now decide elections, a few hundred thousand swing state voters that pay little or no attention to politics, will hear this carnival barking at some point and give him credit for it.
