Trump received 10 personal updates from Michael Cohen and encouraged a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin.

President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter.
Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations. “Make it happen,” the sources said Trump told Cohen.
And even as Trump told the public he had no business deals with Russia, the sources said Trump and his children, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., received regular, detailed updates about the real estate development from Cohen, whom they put in charge of the project.

    [...]

The special counsel’s office learned about Trump’s directive for Cohen to lie to Congress through interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents. Cohen then acknowledged those instructions during his interviews with that office....................

Some reaction from a bunch of experts who know what they're talking about and Fox News idiot Alan Dershowitz:

The new Trump-appointed Attorney General :

Klobuchar: "A president persuading a person to commit perjury would be obstruction. Is that right?" Barr: "Yes." Klobuchar: "You also said that a president — or any person — convincing a witness to change testimony would be obstruction. Is that right?" Barr: "Yes."

Alan Dershowitz who apparently is the authority on whether Trump can be charged :

"If a president’s actions, on the other hand, are unlawful — as President Nixon’s clearly were when he told subordinates to lie to the FBI and pay hush money — good intentions…would not be a defense." Alan Dershowitz, Dec. 5, 2017

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on a report that President Donald Trump directed his personal attorney to lie to Congress (all times local):

    7:50 p.m.

The special counsel’s office has issued a rare public statement disputing the accuracy of a news report saying that President Donald Trump told his personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress.

The statement by Robert Mueller’s office on Friday night doesn’t cite any specific errors.

Spokesman Peter Carr says, “BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate.”

    RALEIGH
Hyo Suk George lived legally in the United States for nearly 20 years before she voted in her first election, coaxed to cast her ballot by an enthusiastic town council member at church.

To register, she presented a green card, Social Security number and driver’s license — proof enough for the elections officials in Columbus County — then voted in 2008, 2010 and 2016.

But on Thursday, George, 70, faced charges of illegal voting from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for which she might have spent six months in prison. Instead, U.S. District Court Judge Terrence Boyle chastised the elections board in Whiteville, letting George go with a $100 fine.

“So they see a green card and say, ‘That’s OK’ because they don’t know what they’re doing,” said Boyle, chief judge of the eastern district of North Carolina. “They ought to be a little smarter than that.”

The special counsel isn't saying the story is wrong, just not entirely accurate. The journalists who broke the story were six months ahead of the rest of the media with the Trump tower story and have been accurate about all their scoops on the Mueller investigation over the past two years. So we'll see how it turns out at some point.

What fake news? There have been thousands of articles published over the past couple of years and a single digit number have been incorrect and have been corrected immediately by whoever published them. Meanwhile the Trump people have been proved to have endlessly lied about the whole thing. They lied during the campaign and they lied during the transition and they lied during the presidency. All the articles they claimed to have been fake have subsequently turned out to be true. Out of the thousands of articles chronicling their lies and mendacity exactly one article is currently in dispute, the rest of them are confirmed.

We've gone from no collusion and we had no contact with the Russians to the collusion didn't involve the prez and over a hundred contacts with the Russians confirmed so far. And we only know a small percentage of the story so far.

Washington Post Caught Red Handed Peddling Anti-Trump Fake News
    FacebookTwitterLinkedInShare Licensing
    9/18/2018
Media Bias: When not complaining about President Trump's attacks on the news media, the press keeps publishing fake news stories about Trump. Case in point is the recent Washington Post "bombshell" story that the Trump administration was denying passports to Latinos.

    00:34
    01:07
The nearly 2,000-word Post story, which ran on August 29, made the explosive charge that the Trump administration was systematically denying passports to Latin-Americans along the border, accusing them of using fraudulent birth certificates.

The story got huge pick up by other news outlets. But was riddled with errors. So much so that even the left-wing, virulently anti-Trump Huffington Post felt compelled to expose its flaws.

    False Facts
"Bombshell Washington Post Story On Trump Passport Crackdown Withheld, Distorted Key Facts," the headline reads.

Among many other problems, the Washington Post reporter cited several policies as evidence of Trump's crackdown. Turns out all of them predated Trump.

The story also claimed that Trump officials had been increasingly denying passports to those with birth certificates signed by midwives suspected of peddling false documents.

But State Department data show the opposite. This type of passport denial peaked in 2015 — when President Obama was running things — at close to 1,500. These denials had dropped to just 971 last year, and are on course to be even lower this year.

And the article goes on Kirk. U think it’s only single digits it’s not. And each erroneous story runs on every network

And the article goes on Kirk. U think it’s only single digits it’s not. And each erroneous story runs on every network

So you found one story. We're still in single digits. And here's what you missed out of the article you didn't link to:

The Washington Post ended up making several revisions to the story, which now includes a lengthy editor's note explaining all the changes.

And since I subscribe to the Washington Post because it's a fantastic news source that gives me knowledge and ultimately makes me money*, I can show you the entire editor's note. You can see that it's the paper themselves who have realised the story is wrong and then corrected it. Fake news is deliberately misleading people with bullshit stories so this is not fake news, it's a mistake.

Editor’s note: After this story was published on Aug. 29, the State Department issued a statement challenging the accuracy of the article and provided previously unreleased data on passport denials. That information has been added, as was indicated in a Sept. 1 editor’s note. On Sept. 13, the story was updated to include comments from the daughter of Jorge Treviño, who had contacted The Post immediately after the story was published. Additional changes have been made to clarify that an affidavit about Treviño was submitted as part of an Obama-era case and to correct a reference to his profession — he was a general practitioner, not a gynecologist. As was noted in an Aug. 31 correction, the State Department began denying passports during the George W. Bush administration, not the Obama administration.

*I'm not interested in whether something is left or right wing, pro or anti Trump, I'm interested in truth and accuracy, facts and evidence because I need the facts to do my work. And the best newspapers in America provide an incredible truth/fact delivery service every day. Take the New York Times. If you've ever bought a copy and seen how thick it is you'll see they basically publish a large book every day. It's a first draft of history and it's impossible to produce that much content every day without the occasional slip up. But it isn't intentional and it's always immediately corrected.

In counterpoint to this you have propaganda outfits like Fox which produce hours and hours of garbage every day yet you're happy to believe all the crap they pump out and criticise the best news gathering organisations in the world. It's ridiculous.

So now the Columbia Bugle who boast proudly of being retweeted by the Real Donald Trump are more reliable than the BBC? everyone knows networks have their bias, and Gd knows the BBC hate Corbyn and the Left, but your Bugle's assertion that Catholic White Schoolboys being told “You white people go back to Europe, this is not your land.” by a Native American war veteran is a racial slur, is as comical as you pretending that Hitler was a Jew. GTF outta here with that bullshit.

I love all these alarmist finding grand conspiracies under every rock and in every shadow. No better way to commentate MLK day than to manufacture the plight of us poor oppressed white folk. Those loony lefties at cnn were already gathering additional clips yesterday morning and denouncing the slurs from a group of 5 racist dipshits who literally insulted every group that showed their faces. Everyone with a phone today goes viral instantly. As to the poor young souls being used as political props for a process they cannot even legally participate in, they numbered into the hundreds on the 2hr vid and chanting build that wall at one point even remotely in the direction of a Native American is about as asinine as it gets. That kid had zero idea what he was standing for with a smirk on his face but he knew who looked like him and who didn't. Best case scenario he's guilty of being a disrespectful twat. And for a right to life rally, where were the signs and the message.

Kirk you are an idiot if you think it’s single digit stories. I don’t think even u believe it. The Washington post is a shit magazine. It’s turned into all oped it’s a shame it was once a great paper. You for someone reason are fixated on the US and trump. Worry about brexit and how you may lose more money than your GDP in the process. You have more than enough to worry about than your trump fixation, which I think is just trolling as u just pick Huffpost and buzzfeed and actually believe it.
