I wonder what the terms are for his contract with Don King. How many more fights does he own him for?
I think this will be his last fight and he will retire with what little he is left with after King makes his deductions.
I read his purse was 500K. How much will be left after King takes his chunk?

Stiverne was a disgrace. Can’t fault Wilder for the fight though.

Lipinets is a good fighter but is very fortunate that he didn’t have to fight Crawford because he would have gotten completely destroyed. Now he can enjoy being a top contender at 140 and making a name for himself until Garcia moves up and beats him.

Granados is hard to root against. He has so much heart. Him saying that he won at the end kind of left a bad taste in my mouth though. He had a ton of heart but in no way won the fight.

10% so maybe Stiverne comes back and rebuilds again.

It was pretty deep over here this morning as I had a friend call proclaiming Wilder the carbon copy of Tyson power . I cannot get passed Wilders flaws being as glaring as his pop as he runs in with zero regard to what comes back. Great emotion but comes off as unhinged pre and post in this one. All the AJ bashing and saying he knows he's a juicer etc and then slams him for "beating a guy Wlad who was already beat"...then he takes the ring 30 minutes later to impale a listless and bloated Stiverne 2 who came just to pay the rent.

on another note about card..seriously put off by Porter late in that one and cannot remember him ever near running to time out a clock. He looked totally spent last couple rounds vs Granados. Cannot think of many matches I'd rather miss but Thurman-Porter II is one of them.

Yeah, maybe. Or maybe he stopped off after the fight for bargain bucket and a box of dunkin donuts, because his training camp was so strict he deserved a treat!

I sense a lot of hostility in your posts about Stiverne.

    Stiverne did a Buster Douglas.

In what sense? At least Buster Douglas did something amazing one night AND he had some decent names on his record to earn his shot.
Stiverne on the other hand has done fuck all. Gets a second shot out of the blue, and doesn't even get in shape , and basically rolling over for his dough.
It was late notice , but nowhere near as late as Takam for example. If you can't do it justice , don't take it.

Stiverne was an absolute disgrace. Didn't even bother training and you knew he was just there for a quick payday as soon as he got into the ring. Didn't even land a punch and folded like a newspaper.

He should not be getting paid for that performance.

In fact, the only two boxing performances I can think of that were as disgraceful were Charles Williams against Joshua and Audley against Haye.

I'm normally very respectful of anybody with the balls to step into a competitive boxing ring ..... but I thought Stiverne ripped off the public and doesn't even deserve to keep his boxing licence.

Wilder did what he needed to do. Lets not get carried away tho, Stiverne was out of shape and inactive. No surprises with the outcome for me. In saying that it has created a bit of buzz for the AJ fight now.

Feel sorry for Granados, he'll fight anyone, a real fighter. Porter was a deserved winner tho. 2 really likeable fighters.

Lipinets was underwhelming, the cuts probably played a part and his opponent appears to have a granite chin. Talk of him facing Broner next. That would be fun.

Breazeale although unimpressive gets the job done. In a round less than Wilder too.

I wouldn’t mind a Lipinets vs Broner match. I thought that Broner came in in shape against Garcia but was just outclassed. I think if he comes in shape against Lipinets, he may be able to pull off a W.

Stiverne reminded me of those old classic movies when a guy s about to be executed. They lead him to the to the wall they blindfold him and light a cigarette for him. You know the last sound he hears. That guy fought harder than Stiverne. It's time for a real bout.
