Default Deontay Wilder vs Bermane Stiverne is a joke fight that shames the sport of boxing

You just wouldn’t get this in any other sport, an athlete such as Stiverne getting an opportunity based on years of inactivity and nothing to deserve it. Stiverne only fought once after that fight when he laboured to a win over heavyweight, If Wilder wins, nothing happens to increase his stock. Even if he knocks out Stiverne in spectacular style, he’s beaten a guy who has fought 10 rounds in three years. And if somehow he loses, he’s just lost to an inactive 39-year-old guy he’s already beaten.

Stiverne was in it for the payday. If he could win, he could have. But a guy that fights for a living all of his life and gets a soft-payday I am NOT upset with. Especially if he was/is a top contender or a former champ.

People tend to forget that these guys take pounding not only on fight night, but during training camp for free and as amateurs for free.

Fight AJ next, Stiverne. And then get your fat-ass out. Because you cannot possibly go anywhere else.

Stiverne stuffed his porky lil face with ***SOSPOIS GIRIZ BLANC, JON-JON, GRIOT, MILLITON AVEX BANUN & GRENADIER*** and came in lethargic, fat and lazy.

He got ~~~sparked~~~ by an Adonis.

Don't worry about it @Badger, @Master does the same thing in the jokes thread...only the people who originally told the jokes are probably grateful that he tries to take all the credit cuz they are so amazingly fucking terrible

That Stiverne got obliterated in 1 round was the best outcome for this fight. This is how Wilder should be desposing if these types of opponents.

The ball is in Wilders court and I want to see his direction after this. He seems like a guy who could be cowed by the weight of the trinket and it's supposed relevance but really it could be the exact thing that impedes -the- heavyweight fight to be made. I'd like to see him call out the terrible mandatory, stop lamenting that Ortiz blew his coming out mega fight and keep in the back of his mind that the trinket has already opened as many doors as it will for him. Should wbc shovel more shat mandatories his way and not support unification drop that glorified carnival prize into the bin and camp out on AJs front lawn as his most significant threat. It's clear Breazeale is on the wbc menu next but Wilder should be talking up Whyte who is in the AJ neighborhood, promotion, fan base as well as more earned threat. Either way Wilder is already sweeping up guys AJ has already busted up.

    Stiverne is an embarrassment.

There was no excuse for him to be in that condition, as he was scheduled to be on the bill anyway.

The so-called HW Championship is supposed to be the most coveted title in sports, yet as Stiverne showed, it's seemingly feasible to turn up with man tits & an ample girth.

On that basis, the WBC could trawl your average building site or pub to find Deontay Wilder's next opponent!

Well, in fairness he said that the reason why he lost the first fight was because he tried to weight drain and it caused him medical conditions.

254 for a guy 6 ft 2 is not a lot of weight if he is in a very physical sport like boxing or football.

Well obviously that did not work and he should have lost more weight because at least he did better in the first fight.

    Spot on.

It's not as if he was lying on beach & got a call to step in as a late replacement: he was allegedly in training to appear on the same bill, so there was simply no excuse for him turning up in that condition.

A guy of his height shouldn't be weighing 254: Anthony Joshua is five inches taller & he was considered heavy when he came in at 254 for his recent fight, although to be fair to Joshua, he doesn't look like Mr Blobby's half brother.
