Same old problems for DeGale. Not working hard enough, not fit enough, always on the ropes. Ihought Truax deserved it.
He can fight Eubank after Groves beats him.

There's always an excuse with James. It's been years since he's looked impressive so maybe he is over the hill. We don't want to hear more groin or shoulder stories. He fought poorly tonight. Can't avoid punches, power seems to have left him and now his chin and stamina are in doubt. That guy got blown away by the rubbish dirrel in 1 round.

if James is serious he's got a lot of changes to make. Groves and eubank have rubbed it in on Twitter and on that form I can't see James beating those guys. Let's see what he's made of and how he comes back.

I think his best days are behind him now.

Just watched the fight..so glad they made the right decision.

I like Degale and he has been out for 11 months, but he is very sloppy at times.

I take it that frank will demand the rematch straight away?

DeGale looked bloody crap that shoulder of his may just finish his career,! he lost he was getting hit far to much he seems to be getting banged up a bit against Jack and Truax James looked terrible he needs to evaluate if he can compete at this high level now. Jr Groves or Smith would have sparked him last night on that performance as they say no hiding place in boxing.

I think when you start to get injuries, it plays more on the mind than anything else. And you start thinking too much about all sorts of shit. After last nights fight , with the few things he said, to me it looks like he's gonna split from his trainer.
And I reckon in his heart of hearts , he's gonna be looking at a couple of cash out fights like the loser of Groves/Eubank, then the loser of the final with Callum Smith and then a final hurrah against the WBSS . That's all assuming he can win any of them. Even if he loses, there's still fights to be made, but less money.

James DeGale to be given immediate chance to win back world title in rematch with Caleb Truax

James DeGale will be given an immediate opportunity to win back his world title.

The Brit lost his super-middleweight belt when he was beaten by Caleb Truax in a stunning upset last weekend.

But a rematch clause in the contract means DeGale can demand an instant shot at his old title.

DeGale's shock defeat - the second of his career - looked to have put paid to the 31-year-old's hopes of a unification rematch with bitter rival George Groves.

Groves takes on Chris Eubank Jr in February in the World Boxing Super Series semi-finals, with the winner set to face either Callum Smith or Jurgen Braehmer in May.

But if he can reclaim his belt, DeGale could yet be waiting for the winner later in the summer.

I didnt know Truax was a Hamonite, that kinda negates any need for a rematch clause doesnt it? They all do as Al says dont they? From the sounds of things there was a rematch clause, I hope there was just to make Eddie and Franks verbals even more pointless.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
