Default Saunders v Jacobs the fight to make as GGG v Canelo II co-feature? WARREN v HEARN

This seems the logical fight for both and hopefully it gets made!
Both great boxers and hard to split so i'm currently on the fence.
Can it be made and who you picking?

Billy Joe Saunders facing Danny Jacobs in the co-feature on May 5th to the imminent rematch between huge rivals Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez has to be the main goal for the division moving forward.

A super event at the impressive T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas featuring the four best 160 pounders on the planet could represent a mini tournament and see the winners fully unify the weight class by the end of the year.
There's only one stumbling block and it's a big one...
The big question is...can Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren work together to bring the fans a huge event?
Both sides are at loggerheads in the media on several levels and continually give candid interviews dismissing the others efforts and achievements.
So how could they bury the hatchet for the spring? I'm afraid only Hearn and Warren can answer that.
Saunders is in limbo as Golovkin and Canelo prepare to put it all on the line once again in May, leaving only one solid option in Jacobs.
As Hearn represents Jacobs following a deal signed earlier this year, Warren would have to open talks with his main rival in a bid to put together the effective semi-finals.
Another option could be Jermall Charlo, although working with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy operation again would also seemingly be off the table.
The Charlo brothers were brought to the fore by GBP and De La Hoya, only to jump ship when Al Haymon set-up his own stable with Premier Boxing Champions.
Should Warren - as expected - avoid sharing an event with Hearn, it seems probable Saunders will head back to the UK for his next title defence if he intends to stay in the GGG v Canelo mix.
A further option would be moving up to 168 to chase a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. should the Brighton man see off George Groves and Callum Smith in the World Boxing Super Series tournament.
Whatever happens in 2018, Saunders has firmly enhanced his reputation with what was the best performance of his career as David Lemieux had no answer for the 28 year-old's skill in front of his home fans in Canada.

He won't move up for Eubanks jr.

    Who is BJS Mandatory?

The most important thing for BJS is staying busy..waiting for May 5th is too long...he needs another fight in March.

BJS is the A side with Jacobs and that won't go down too well with Hearn.

Saunders needs to be fighting the elite non stop from now on as it brings out the best in him, not sure on his mandatory but if it can be pushed aside for a Jacobs fight then he should go that route.
Would Love to be a fly on the wall if and when Warren and Hearn are sat across a table "negotiating"

Yeah BJS definitely needs to stay busy, I think that Ingle would be a little concerned if BJS has to wait too long for his next fight, it sounds like they have a good relationship at the minute (almost a father son sort of thing going on) Ingle has already said that he can have till mid January then he wants him back in the gym training.

This would be great if it actually happened but to be honest, I’ll be a bit shocked if BJS steps up and fights Jacobs because it’s such a dangerous fight. If he loses then he loses his opportunity at the GGG bs Canelo winner.

As much as I rate BJS, he doesn't seem interested in the Jacobs fight as that could seriously derail his chances.

He wants that retirement/legacy money and let's hope he gets it.

I think he will wait it out and take a soft defence and fight GGG/Canelo winner in September.

Don't think for one minute that BJS and Jacobs will be fighting each other. But don't be surprised if Saunders next fight is in Vegas ppv against Canelo.
    Golden boy would feel:
    1. Easier than GGG
    2. Gives Canelo a belt and EVEN MORE LEVERAGE for the GGG fight in September.
    3. It puts pressure on GGG to rematch Jacobs
    4. Even if GGG gets through that, he'll be another year older by September with Father Time eating away at him.
This is the way GBP would be thinking, but the only problem would be, that after last night I reckon BJS would beat Canelo! Maybe he showed too much last night??
GGG has let GBP take the piss with negotiations and lack of commitment for the rematch (and the first fight!)
GGG likes to fight 3-4 times a year, and he's allowed GBP to piss him about a bit.
What team GGG should do is get in first and try to make a stadium fight with BJS In March.
That would leave Canelo looking for a viable opponent for May, and it may have to be a dangerous one.

Canelo could fight Mickey Mouse in May it would still sell.

    Golden boy is a joke.

Waiting for GGG to get old is so obvious.

The above scenario could possibly work because even if BJS does outbox Canelo in vegas...the scorecards will read different.

BJS gets a massive payday..Canelo gets the belt and GGG gets older.

Hearn won't put Jacobs in with GGG yet until he's had another win.

Be a great double header and as a build to needed winner vs winner I doubt Oscar would allow anything or anyone to take the shine off of his little Canelo, especially Jacobs who bailed on him. Call it once burnt twice shy but I'm not convinced they'll make May 5th but draw it out hoping yet more time ticks off on Golovkins clock. I suspect Saunders will ride this out and wait for winner all the while talking it up rightfully so, maybe take a mandatory Stateside for exposure ? and might be overthinking it but might be why they had top ranked Douglas sharing same card last night. Probably didn't count on Spike beating him like a drum though. Maybe keep newly ranked Spike as a hometown keep busy rematch, not sure that sells anything though.

Also same day as gerbil faced Bellew and Haye rematch, that'd be fun network comp depending on times etc.

The one fighter that nobody is mentioning is Charlo. A legit threat to every MW in the world but nobody is mentioning his name

Don't think canelo will Dodge ggg to fight Saunders after this performance, of course the judges will be kind to him but its better to have a good looking KO instead of a dodgy points decision.... If Alvarezs dodges golovkin I am betting now he takes on former middleweight truax for the 161 lb title and makes a questionable defence of it before taking on an aged golovkin next year. Stranger Th in g's have happened
