I get the supremacy of Nikon, having shot with them for years, and their customer service in replacing shutters etc has been top notch.
I get that but I gotta say the ability to hold hundreds of books on one device is incredibly handy. Especially during travel. You can also go to the library and the put the books right on the kindle for you. News magazines no though, I want my papers in print.

Amazon is on top. On Monday, it surpassed Microsoft to become the largest publicly traded company in the U.S. by market cap, with a current valuation of $789 billion. Apple, its fierce competitor, has fallen to fourth place, trailing both Microsoft and Alphabet.
That's good news for Amazon investors, especially those who bought stock early on. If you had invested $1,000 in the tech company in early January 2009, your initial outlay would be worth more than $28,356 as of January 2019, according to CNBC calculations.
And the ecommerce giant is expected to see shares surge more than 20 percent in 2019, according to a new report from Pivotal Research Group.

    Plus that’s pretty cool to
Yes I can see how it is useful and vital for some to have so many books on one device. Just personally I spend enough time working with screens all day and night to know I would hate having to read books on one. No substitute.

I fell into a coma reading the rest of your post but yes Amazon, shares, etc. I think Miles hordes gold too, so maybe you are both dragons. Batman would love to read about you being such a big fan of fantasy fiction. 😁
Sure nod off it’s fine but it is fascinating 1,000 bucks invested in amazon ten years ago is 28,000 today. Many books I do prefer hard or soft cover but I had three very large bookshelves full of them and I was able to put them all on my kindle and expand my meth production operation. Excuse me when I go into investment talk, it’s just the only way I’ve been able to get a taste of how the big boys do it, they won’t let us get a lot but if you study up and becareful you can provide a nice security blanket for your family. Funny thing is I live like I don’t have it. I have it tied up, easy enough to get access to, move it around if need be but I’ve never sold stocks or anything despite being in since I was 19. I would really like to leave the bulk of it to a good nonprofit, I may start a new charity free hats for fat people

I disagree about books now. They simply take up too much space and I say the same about music too. I have hundreds of books and albums and considering I end up moving pretty regularly it just becomes a burden. It costs about a thousand pounds to move my stuff every time and that accumulation becomes burdensome. With an electronic device you can store a lot of data on a very small USB or what have you and I prefer that. I also do not download anything in my name. My next step is throwing out the bed. Who needs a bed when you can sleep on the floor? What is the actual point of a bed? Heavy stupid things that cats run under and where dust accumulates. Enough with beds. I am boycotting beds.

On the other side of things bezos saw the possibilities before other grasped the possibilities. Look at sears, they sold everything and had that sears catalogue in everyone’s house. They had a grand opportunity to change to internet. It is sad to see so many brick and mortar struggle but everyone here bitching has probably used amazon. In an interview a while ago Bezos said amazon is just temporary. Something will come along to knock it out, it’s the history of companies.

I've had it with Amazon. Every time I order some chicken pellets I get an email a few days later asking for their feed back

Amazon should buy the Amazon rain forest and protect the environment.
