Default Canelo eyes Wembley Stadium fight against Smith in 2019

SAUL ‘CANELO’ ALVAREZ has his eyes on a giant Wembley clash with Liverpudlian Callum Smith in 2019.

Hmmm...it’s not a bad fight but there are bigger fish to fry at middleweight. Jacobs is the obvious fight. That should be #1 priority. Charlo should be #2. I’m really hoping Canelo isn’t trying to run from the middleweight division.

It sounds good saying that you jump around weights, but it just makes it easier to avoid the best fighters.

I think Callum Smith is a harder fight for Canelo than Jacobs or Charlo. Smith is a real super middleweight champion and bigger and more dangerous than anyone at middleweight.

I think this is more about getting Canelo global exposure and especially here in the UK and Europe, can him and Smith fill Wembley... doubt it but i can definitely see Hearn, Oscar and DAZN wanting to pimp him out around the world.

Talk’s cheap. I don’t reckon he’s got the nuts to do this.

I don’t think Callum Smith is special, just a good big guy, he fights basically the same way as his brother. Rematching GGG would’ve taken more courage than this would, as would fighting Charlo or Jacobs for my money, just stylistically. I don’t really understand how the deal Canelo signed works, is his purse basically the same for every fight until it expires, aside from some upside from the gate? Are they exclusively on DAZN or are there still some networks which will show them on PPV...

    Special enough to beat Canelo.
