Sam Maxwell knocks out showboating opponent Sabri Sediri with just 15 seconds left in fight he was losing to win vacant WBO European super lightweight title

Maxwell had been dropped twice in the bout and was behind on the scorecards

Sam Maxwell sensationally knocked out his showboating opponent with just 15 seconds left on the clock.

The 30-year-old super-lightweight was down on the scorecards against Sabri Sediri having been dropped twice at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

With the clock expiring in the 10th round, Sediri was taunting his opponent by leaving his hands and exposing his chin.

Maxwell never gave up, though, and landed his best shot of the night with seconds left.

A devastating right hand sent the Frenchman to the canvas and the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist could not help but roar in delight after flooring his cocky opponent.

Sediri stumbled back into the ropes after getting on his feet but the referee waved off the contest.

Maxwell kept his unbeaten record intact, moving to 11-0, and won the vacant WBO European super-lightweight title.

He was originally due to fight Spain’s Kevin Dotel but the opponent was changed in the week leading up to the bout.
