Default Claressa Shields vs. Christina Hammer - Showtime

Anyone . Anyone at all have 1 eye open for this big ol battle for the undisputed women's Middleweight championship . Crazy days, we have more threads and pages on transgender boxers than we do arguably on one of the best matches in female boxing. I'd like to see Hammer get the win Saturday and think she pulls it off.

Decent sit down pre-fight interview I meant to post on Fools Day. Not overly impressed with Shields. Hammer will be calm and measured and outbox Shields keeping her at distance and frustrating her all night for me. Saturday night headliner is big for the scene. Hammer may stop her late but a wide points win is probably more likely. IMO.

I'd like to see hammer win also. Shields just talks too much for what skill she has. For me, this will come down to how well Hammer can keep shields to the outside. Shields is going to come in and muddy this up and try to win it on work rate. Hammer has to tie her up effectively and/ or make her pay. Seeing how Hammer folded from those rabbit punches in her no contest with Mathis and how big of a deal Shields made of an unintentional butt against Gabriels, I wouldnt be surprised to see this end on a foul or controversy .

Refreshing indeed to see a big upcoming fight between real women boxers. Women's boxing isn't really my thing, but I tend to tune in when there's a big fight coming up. Agree with those who'd like to see Hammer win. Excessively mouthy fighters are not my thing either.

Shields seems to be obsessed with her supposed 'power' and hurting Hammer. Hammer will box her game but better hope the judges aren't off hitting the mini bar. I mean this as kindly as possible, in more than a few ways Shields reminds me of Big Baby Miller . Big contrast in mind sets with Shields and Hammer.

Not a great look for Americas hopes when it comes to heavyweights. Rydell Booker v Jermain Franklin in the co main. Booker just did 18 years in prison after he lost to James Toney in 2004 . Hey..at least Barry Tompkins is on the mic again.

Not a terrible heavyweight fight from two guys pushing 240+. For 18 yrs out Booker got in his own over the distance loss. Jermain Franklin may be undefeated but he needs a whoooole lotta work. That weight increase and stamina lows will cost him dearly.

Shields is likely the best female boxer. It’s a shame she talks so much nonsense. Calling out men, GGG (jokingly but still), and claiming she’s top 10 P4P among men even. Jesus Christ...I’ve sparred guys that would KO her. My 31 year old outta shape teacher self wouldn’t though lol

Sports media did their bes to promote it but I don't think women's boxing will ever become prime time. MMA proved it.

The idiotic Sheilds now is saying she can beat Keith Thurman, GGG etc.
The level of womens boxing is regional club fighters at best , lets see her fight GGG it will be fun.
