Default Dave Allen vs David Price

Dave Allen vs David Price officially announced for Dillian Whyte undercard, July 20 in London
There will be a domestic heavyweight showdown on the O2 Arena bill

Dave Allen will fight David Price in a heavyweight clash on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs Oscar Rivas.

The bout will take place on July 20 at London’s O2 Arena following Allen’s win over Lucas Browne and Price’s bizarre triumph against Kash Ali.

“This is the fight that I’ve wanted for years,” said Allen.

“I wanted it three years ago but it probably wasn’t the right fight for me at the time. Now it’s the right time for me and it’s the biggest domestic fight out there.

“There may be other fighters out there that are better than us but I think me and Pricey have two of the biggest fanbases in the UK.

“We’re both really exciting fighters and we can both punch, either of us could end it with one shot. It’s a great fight and one that I’m really excited to be involved in.

“This won’t go past four rounds. I’m going to try and outbox him and I’m going to try and take him out with one shot as early as possible.

“I want to beat him in the first two or three rounds while he’s still fresh and at his best. His game plan will be to try and knock me out within the first few rounds so the fans will love it.”

Price replied: “It’s a great fight and it’s come at a good time for the both of us. It’s a fight that will capture a lot of people’s interest. Dave Allen has got a good following and I’ve got a good following myself. It’s going to be an interesting night that’s for sure.

“Dave is a durable fighter and he’s on a good winning streak. His last fight was a great win so he’ll be coming into this one with his tail up but I’ve won my last two fights as well.

“It’s going to be explosive. It’s two big punchers and it might be a matter of who lands first.

“Dave is known for his toughness so it won’t be a good idea for me to go out there and try to land a big one early. It’s about me trying to use my attributes to my advantage. It’s two completely different types of fighters and two different sized men.

“I’m a lot bigger than Dave Allen, that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

“It’s a massive fight. I think me and Dave Allen have been slated to fight a couple of times in the past and it hasn’t happened for whatever reason but this time there’s big upsides for the winner. There’s a hell of a lot on the line which makes for an intriguing fight.”

Yes hard to knock this one, even if its an awful mess until the last second, someone is getting pole axed, and they are both likeable losers. Price so vulnerable with a tiny engine but genuine power and delivery for a couple of rounds. Allen with a great chin and decent engine but so easy to hit. Wouldnt bet a fiver on this one.

Clever by Matchroom to put this on to bulk up a PPV that should never in a million years be a PPV.
2-popular fighters. Price early or Allen after 6.

Hah yes, this doesnt seem like PPV material, although Rivas vs Whyte isnt a bad fight. When matchroom puts on cards at home in the UK, are they shown on DAZN, or always their own Thing? Im not even sure Price has 6 rounds in him, unless Allen cant get any work done at all. Could be a train wreck of a fight

Think Allen can get away with many more mistakes than Price and Price isn't too hard to rattle badly. Going to be some crossed feet and maybe one of those sloppy clinching wrestling falls along the way but Allen ko by 7 for me.

Yeah its about time the guy finally got taught a lesson. With his terrible out of the ring antics and nasty attitude, Im really hoping He gets his comeuppance one of these days.

I'd put the mortgage on Allen at this stage. He's a fighting man and won't go away. We still talk about Price's power but he hasn't got it now (fuck the old adage of power being the last thing to go, if you can't move you can't land properly).

That means you can all back Price with a guaranteed win.

    Price is not world class.

But Price vs Chisorsa makes sense.

2m would be retire money for me but Price seems a classic example of doomed due to the Olympics/amature pedigree any one know about his background, too lazy to look this up, that doesn't change my mind.
Would not pay to see him fight, but huge inactivity has not helped him,
This 30+ years are young heavy weights is bullshit, stay active or retire.

    My two cents.

Price should have a 2m deal when he was the new boy.
Regardless, he didn't meet the grade and should retire.

Saying the Chisora vs Price would be a very interesting match up, instead of this shit.

I think Price is even less likely to win that, so its not as interesting. Just my two million.

Price should retire. Allen may not hurt him seriously, but that may be the worst thing to happen for Price because he will fight on and get in there with someone that will.
