Thank goodness for that. I hope Jacobs shocks the world and puts that infected meat eating caveman through the canvas and plants him through the ground in an effort to not only win, but also find out what is below the flat earth. You cannot tell me it is endless lava. Not only would it be a great win but a great scientific discovery. Go Jacobs! Go away Byrd! Rock and roll. Uppercut glory. Ginseng tea. Oh yeah, I got milk and I am not afraid to use it.

Canelo vs Jacobs: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs pulled apart as tempers boil over in Vegas

Watch Canelo vs Jacobs from 12.30am in early hours of Sunday morning live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Action

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs had to be pulled apart during their weigh-in for their middleweight unification clash.

'Canelo' will put his WBA 'Super' and WBC belts on the line against IBF champion Jacobs at the T-Mobile Arena in the early hours of Sunday morning, live on Sky Sports.

Jacobs (35-2 29 KOs) was bang on the middleweight limit at 160lbs, while Mexican superstar Canelo tipped the scales at 159.5lbs.

After the pair weighed-in tempers boiled over during the face to face when both fighters pushed their foreheads together.

Canelo shoved Jacobs and the pair had to be pulled apart while they angrily shouted at each other.

"Emotions are flying high. I ain't never backed down a challenge in my life," said Jacobs, who was flanked by his son.

"Everything that I do is for my family. Everything I do is for Brooklyn and for the culture.

However, Canelo countered: "That was fear right there, what he did."

I've arrived at a place I'd rather not be and that is thinking that not only does Canelo take the W but he may very well knock Jacobs out. The weight's one thing but also Jacobs simply doesn't have as many tools and is getting out of his skin with the pre fight back and forth. He'll keep it calm cool and collected to start but can't help but see him running into more counters especially if he goes full throttle attack mode. Jacobs can be tightly wrapped and susceptible to that faster inside work and shots he doesn't see coming. Top notch match up and comes down to heart v mind a bit for me. Love nothing better than for Danny to leave him in a heap.

Jacobs came in at 173 this morning. They were contracted to only be able to weight 170. He is getting fined 250k per pound. That’s a lot of money. I’m sure it was calculated though. He wants the weight advantage.

Good, he looked like crap yesterday

Hopefully he looks alive with that extra few pounds rightfully on his frame according to the RULES, not the contract.

Rehydration clauses make no sense whatsoever. The only rule should be about making the predetermined weight. They need to just switch back to same day weigh ins to avoid these types of things. It would dissuade fighters from dropping too much weight, and if they did drop a ton of weight, it would affect them even more.

Same day weigh ins is it. These guys are professionals. They should have the making weight process down pat. They know their bodies. They also have a team around them of competent people (or at least they should have one). Same day weigh ins should've been instituted long ago. But then that would've made a shambles out of the early career of Canelo and a couple more like him. Rehydrating and gaining over 20 pounds overnight is B.S., and someone should've put their foot down a long time ago. If you can't make weight you go up to the next division (or catchweight, as is the norm these days ). If you do make the weight, you're mindful of coming in in good fighting shape... not like some giant prune.

Truth be told if the shoe was on the other foot I'd be tearing Canelo down..again..for blowing the contracted agreed to weights by throwing diva money away in order to gain a supposed 'advantage'.

Canelo is such a cheat in every which way. 'Rehydration clauses'? Why can it never be straight?

I hope Jacobs hurts him. 24 times.

Come on, both fighters made the weight. That's enough. Extra clauses should not be allowed. Either you can fight at the weight or you cannot.

Seems we've been saying that for years now . I really don't have a problem with rehydration clauses given that both are well known for blowing up that 12-20+ lbs you mention. It's not like Jacobs is entering a new division for this middleweight match. That whole Fielding carnival that Canelo had..could have been a test lab experiment for him with Jacobs and clause in mind.
