Default Josh Warrington v Kid Galahad - 15/7/19 - BT Sports

Josh Warrington has his eye on unification fights in the featherweight division - but he must first take on mandatory challenger Kid Galahad.
Warrington has already taken the scalps of Lee Selby and Carl Frampton having long since established himself as a star in his hometown of Leeds.
He returns there for the showdown with Galahad who is unbeaten but largely untested as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career.
The Sheffield slugger has promised much in the build-up but must now deliver.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming fight...

    Who is on the undercard?

    Zelfa Barrett vs Leon Woodstock
    James Metcalf vs Jason Welborn
    Lyndon Arthur vs Andrzej Soldra
Troy Williamson vs Edwin Palacios 1
    Alex Dickinson vs Kamil Sokolowski
    Jack Bateson vs Bayardo Ramos
    Mark Heffron vs Daniel Urbanski
    Jack McGann vs Kevin McCauley
    Shakiel Thompson vs Alistair Warren

I'm going with Warrington who has already beaten Galahad twice in the amateurs and sparred with him loads of times.
Warrington say's he simply can't be beaten by a drug cheat (Galahad still maintains his innocence claiming his brother spiked his drink after an argument over money)

The pace Warrington fights at is fucking relentless and he can do it all night long and i don't think Galahad can keep him off.

Warrington to come out like a maniac and win this convincingly.

Warrington has a excellent engine I expect him to win this one.
He's beat Selby and Frampton so he's on a roll you could say.!

O'Hagan is not given the credit he is due in getting Warrington where he is. Much like Josh himself really. He has designed the right game plan every time and made sure it was executed. It is about much more than hard work and Bari is putting his head into the head of a Lion with his deluded suggestion that Warrington has lost his hunger. He may end up realising 'A little less conversation' would have served him better. He will not be given the time to ponder and think about throwing perfect punches against such a consistent machine. Speaking to someone who has shared the ring with Warrington it is clear that he hits much harder than he is given credit for, and his concentration and accuracy is off the charts at times. He got there first time and again with Frampton and there is nothing to suggest he is slowing down. Yes it is all about levels but there is nothing to suggest that 'Galahad' is anywhere close to what he would need to be to cause an upset.

'It's now or never' for Abdul and he may well get 'All shook up' to the point that O'Hagan says to Josh 'Don't be cruel'. He will need more than a 'Good luck charm' on his 'Way down'

That was a very messy first round. Glalahad landed the best punch but there will be head clashes and dirty inside fighting.

    1 nil The kid.

Not nice tactics by Galahad with the holding but he is frustrating Warrington and won 2nd round.

Warrington can not raise the pace of the fight and get his punches going. Tight 3rd round but give it Warrington.

    2-1 Galahad.
