Default Bare knuckle boxing is a step back to the stone ages!

Why on earth would anyone want to take a step backwards? Bare knuckle boxing was what boxing WAS back in the 1800's before the Queensbury rules. Why would anyone want a step back?

Well, BKB is bloodier and looks more brutal (doesn't look nice) because of the cuts and bruises, but on the other hand you can't punch as hard if you don't have the protection of gloves. Therefore less brain injuries.

Now, I don't want people beating each other for 20 + rounds like in 1890 but this article does make a good point: https://www.neatorama.com/2010/07/04...-using-gloves/
The Marquess of Queensberry rules took off not because society viewed the new sport as more civilised than the old, but because fights conducted under the new guidelines attracted more spectators. Audiences wanted to see repeated blows to the head and dramatic knockouts.
By contrast, the last bare-knuckle heavyweight contest in the US in 1897 dragged on into the 75th round. Since gloves spread the impact of a blow, the recipient of a punch is less likely to be blinded, have their teeth knocked out or their jaw broken. However, gloves do not lessen the force applied to the brain as it rattles inside the skull from a heavy blow. In fact, they make matters worse by adding 10oz to the weight of the fist.
A full-force punch to the head is comparable to being hit with a 12lb padded wooden mallet travelling at 20mph.[...]

I actually like watching both though there's clearly more talent on the gloved department.

You might say today's gloved boxers are generally in better shape for both dishing out and enduring punishment (hence the more frequent ring fatalities) but it still holds true that gloves allow them to whack that nogging like there's no tomorrow.
Imagine Golovkin punching you without having to pull his punch; You'd die. Now imagine him doing it without gloves; You'd die and he wouldn't be able to continue.
