It will put pressure of Canelo to try and unify the titles.

More wishful thinking from my part but if Bivol or Beterbiev could destroy Kov more easily than Canelo did then it may put pressure on him to take on them instead.

That’s the opposite. If one of them just completely destroyed Kovalev, then Canelo wouldn’t fight them.

True, like Callum Smith destroying George Groves. Although it did not put Canelo off fighting Kovalev after he knocked out the young undefeated hot prospect Yarde.

Then Beterbiev should be the only name coming out of Canelo's lips.

In essence what I am saying is that I want Canelo to get sparked out and comprehensively beat. This is the best chance that it could happen.

You and I want the same thing, Master. Unfortunately, Canelo being pressured to fight anybody isn't just a pipe dream. It's a pipe dream of colossal proportions. Canelo is (and has been for a while) beyond the reach of pressure to be exerted on mere mortal fighters. Remember... Canelo is Franchise Champion. That's a couple of notches away from Emperor of Boxing. Canelo can jump, skip, duck, cherry-pick, and marinate as he pleases. Only way he fights a peak, young, dangerous, motivated opponent is in someone's wet dreams. There's been a lot of money, time, effort, and shady dealings spent on making Canelo a Hollywood matinee idol, being groomed for canonization. You don't just carelessly pressure the Emperor to fight someone who could derail that gravy train.

    That would be rubbish.
Now see a Manfredo Jr comeback is what I would call rubbish.

All retired fighters should stay retired, Ward beating Canelo proves what? He's already considered a modern great and if Canelo wins he gets no respect for beating an old man.

Let the young guys have a chance. Canelo has half-a-dozen prime guys he's 50-50 with.

I'm not disagreeing, original question was would he return for Canelo.

I know and i'm just saying Ward coming back means nothing to me regardless. I'm sure it would be a big financial success but I couldn't care less whether or not a past his pomp Ward beats Canelo.
