    Default Putting on weight.

    Hi,

I am a massive fan of boxing and work out most days / nights. I run around 3 times a week and do jab pads or the punchbag 3 times a week, I also do around 40 weights a night on each arm. I am 6,2 and around 10.5 stone. I would like to put on weight as in the past I feel this has improved my punch. Is there any good ways of doing this apart from eating like a horse?!?

    Many thanks,

    Joe.

Eat plenty of proteins, and do some weightlifting, and the weight should come.

Gotta eat a shit load of Fiber and alot more calories than you consume, primaraly from complex carbs. How much do you eat and how often do you train? have you always been 10.5 stone?

How different to hear a boxer wanting to gain weight Personally, if I were 6'2" and @ 150 pounds (if a stone is @ 14pounds) I'd go with it.(for the record, I was once 6'3" and 155 before settling in comfortably at 178-182) Go to the gym and learn your craft, hit that heavy bag, do pushups and isometric type exercises. Take advantage of your height advantage, and please belive me when I tell you that proper punching technique- given the tremendous leverage your height allows- will pump your punching power far more than 15 more pounds.
The thing is, learn to use your body now, learn the technique now. Your body will look after itself and get to the weight it should be at soon enough.
