Why does this feel like Wilder v Ortiz . Have it 3-0 Lopez but Oscar warming up.

Gave Valdez 4th and Lopez 5th. Lopez makes him look slow and Valdez loading up for 1-2s. Wondering how much Valdez took his foot off the gas with late sub. 4-1 Lopez on hustle and cleaner punches. V

6th round Lopez. Valdez needs to do something special at this point. Honestly quite shocked

Annnnd there he goes. Lopez is in all kinds of trouble. Valdez drops the hammers gets him rocked again and ref jumps in to stop it. Bit quick for me but he was blowing his nose out, another quick turnaround

Lopez looked genuinely hurt there. Dudes whole body quacked off the finishers so ref did him a favor

frampton looked good at this weight. valdez got a scare. opponents on short notice can do that. ref ended it too soon but fighter safety comes first after the year we're having. last few rounds might have been blazing

Frampton's bodywork is still great. Lopez proved he could fight and gained momentum from this fight. Valdez has little chance against Berchert

Both Frampton and Valdez are to small for the Superfeather division.
Carl should stay at feather weight same goes for Valdez the point is there body frames are to small. They would struggle against any of the Champions at 9 .4 it's a big ask.!

I thought the Lopez stoppage was ridiculous. Even after the first KD the ref was saying 'Show me something' and then on weathering a storm with many punches blocked one that pushes his head back but does not cause a wobble has the ref jumping in....with afew seconds to go. That was nonsense in a fight Lopez was likely up in even with the bad round. Only 3 rounds to go. I am sure the corner would been able to make a decision.

    Bad stoppage.

Frampton eyeing Herring title fight after dominating McCreary

Carl Frampton wants to challenge Jamel Herring for the WBO super featherweight title after getting back to winning ways with a dominant points victory over Tyler McCreary on Saturday.

Frampton had not fought since failing to beat Josh Warrington for the IBF title in December last year. The former two-weight world champion had been due to face*Emmanuel Dominguez in August but fractured his metacarpal after a large concrete ornament in a hotel lobby fell on his left hand.

The Northern Irishman confirmed he re-fractured the hand in training for his bout with McCreary, and believed he did so again during a fight in which he dropped the American twice with powerful body shots.
However, after claiming victory via a unanimous decision, Frampton has his sights set on a title fight with Herring, who was in attendance on Saturday*in Las Vegas after winning his first defence of the strap against Lamont Roach last month.

Speaking to ESPN, Frampton said: "It's the first time I've met Jamel, my impression of him before I met him was that he's a nice guy and he's lived up to the impression I had of him.

"I know he's a champ, I just want to fight for a world title next, I want to be involved in big fights, and I would love the opportunity to fight Jamel.

"I'm not the champion, he's the champion. If it happens in Belfast, happy days. If it doesn't and I have to go New York I'm keen for that.
"My hand wasn't great coming into the camp so it's always a bit softer hitting a body than a head. I feel like I hurt it again in the second round, that's why it wasn't the most exciting fight in the world but I just cruised to a points win. I just wanted to be safe.

"I feel like it's probably re-fractured, I re-fractured it twice in the camp and I knew a lot of people was coming here to support me.

"There's absolutely no way I wasn't fighting. I've done like 26, 28 rounds of sparring because of the hand but I had to fight."

Agreed. They should fight each other. I don't think much of Herring but he's much bigger than Frampton.

I don’t get why some fighters like Frampton move up in weight. Is it just because he’s on the tail end of his career and just doesn’t want to cut the weight anymore? Because I agree that he just won’t have success at this weight. There is no way that he can beat a guy like Berchelt or Tank (when he was at that weight). He could still potentially pull off an upset at featherweight. Super featherweight is too much for him though.
