Default Dillian Whyte completely cleared of all wrongdoing by UKAD, charge dropped

Dillian Whyte has been completely cleared of all wrongdoing by UKAD (UK Anti-Doping) after they dropped their charge against him following an investigation.

It was reported, but not officially confirmed due to confidentiality, earlier this year that a drugs test returned three days prior to his win over Oscar Rivas stated that Whyte’s system contained an adverse finding.

Now UKAD have declared: “Statement: UK Anti-Doping and the professional boxer, Dillian Whyte, can today jointly confirm that Mr Whyte was charged with an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) earlier this year, but that this charge has now been withdrawn.

“The charge was brought after a sample provided by Mr Whyte on 20 June 2019 indicated the presence of two metabolites of a steroid. UKAD initiated an investigation with which Mr Whyte cooperated fully. UKAD has accepted the explanation provided by Mr Whyte and, in accordance with the UK Anti-Doping Rules, the charge against Mr Whyte has been withdrawn.

“This would ordinarily mean that UKAD would not make any public statement, in accordance with the applicable confidentiality rules to which UKAD is subject. However, since certain confidential information relating to this matter (including the fact of the initial charge) has unfortunately made its way into the public domain, UKAD and Mr Whyte have agreed to take the unusual step of releasing the following limited information to put an end to speculation concerning Mr Whyte’s status.

“Case Details: In respect of Mr Whyte’s drug testing results, the following points are relevant:

“There is nothing in Mr Whyte’s longitudinal urinary profile to suggest that he has used steroids.

“The levels of the metabolites found in Mr Whyte’s 20 June 2019 sample were extremely low.

“Mr Whyte had provided a urine sample to VADA on 17 June 2019, i.e. 3 days before his 20 June 2019 sample, which was tested by a WADA-accredited laboratory and which returned a negative result, including for the metabolites in question.

“Mr Whyte provided several other doping control samples to UKAD and VADA between 20 June and 20 July 2019 (i.e. the date of his fight with Oscar Rivas) – all of which also tested negative.

“In light of the above points, the trace amounts of metabolites found in the 20 June 2019 sample are consistent with an isolated contamination event, and they are not suggestive of doping.

“Having rigorously scrutinised and investigated the detailed factual and scientific evidence provided by Mr Whyte, UKAD is satisfied that the presence of the very low amounts of metabolites in his 20 June 2019 sample was not caused by any fault, negligence or wrongdoing on Mr Whyte’s part and, given the circumstances, could not have affected the fight between Mr Whyte and Mr Rivas on 20 July 2019.

“Indeed, prior to that fight, an independent tribunal considered a number of the above factors before deciding to permit Mr Whyte to participate. Following that preliminary ruling, UKAD continued its investigation and Mr Whyte provided further evidence in his defence, which has culminated in UKAD’s decision to withdraw the charge.

There is nothing in that saying he didn’t have D-bol in his system. It says he did, but they’re cool with it.

Poor Ryan Martin, also claims contamination, gets a 4 year ban. Whyte rightfully got a 2 year ban the first time he was caught, also claiming contamination, but now that there is major money backing him, he gets off scott free.

Just a coincidence who you support right? He used PEDs and illegal gloves but he’s from the UK, oh no, it’s not about that. It’s that you support guys that use PEDs (multiple times) and illegal gloves right? Which is it?

What's the deal with the illegal gloves? I've not heard that mentioned anywhere else

Rivas mob claim that Whyte used a set of gloves that weren't part of the glove selection process. They claim they found out half an hour before first bell and didn't get a chance to look at them. They also claimed they didn't get to fully watch Whyte's hands being wrapped.

Hasn't UKAD let other boxers off the hook for doping?

No idea what you mean with the mob stuff. If Anber and Ron say it happened, it definitely happened. Lets move on for the sake of all of our sanity.

I heard that the UKAD had breached confidentiality, and Whte had grounds/ threatened to sue. That was the reason an agreement was reached.

Last month the WBC cleared Rey Vargas and Julio Cesar Martinez after they failed VADA testing - siting the same tainted meat excuse they used to clear Canelo, Morales, Nery, Vargas, Salido, etc.

Whyte passed all the WBC "clean boxing" program, Vada, yet before this UKAD incident was resolved they ruled that 2021 is the earliest he'll be reinstated should he prove his innocence.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Whyte is that fair?

Whyte-vs-Wilder or Fury i'd very much like to see. He is a dangerous challenger (when fit). That's all.

we all know drug use is more than likely prevalent in the sport. Masking agents exist and the drug creators will always be ahead of the testers. A drug cheat is a drug cheat for me, whether they have been cleared or not. All the other politics are outsidde my control.

WBC reinstates Britain's Whyte as interim heavyweight champion

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte has been reinstated as WBC interim champion and will get a mandatory shot at the title currently held by Deontay Wilder, the WBC said on Wednesday.

The decision comes five days after the UK Anti-Doping agency (UKAD) withdrew a charge against the 31-year-old Whyte for a doping violation and follows a WBC investigation.

"In light of the WBC's own finding and of UKAD's withdrawal of the claim against Mr. Whyte, the WBC has closed its internal investigation," the WBC said in a statement https://wbcboxing.com/en/wbc-status-...n-whyte-update.

The WBC said it found no sufficient or conclusive evidence that Whyte intentionally took a banned substance with the aim of enhancing his performance.

"The WBC is hereby lifting its provisional suspension and confirming its recognition of Mr Whyte as WBC Interim World Heavyweight Champion," the statement added.

Whyte won the title on July 20 by beating Colombian Oscar Rivas but the WBC provisionally suspended recognition of his status as interim champion 10 days later over an irregular urine sample he had provided out-of-competition in June.

UKAD had charged Whyte for a doping violation as his sample before the fight "indicated the presence of two metabolites of a steroid" but on Friday it cleared him of any wrongdoing.

The agency said there was nothing in Whyte's "longitudinal urinary profile" to suggest he used steroids.

Wilder is set for a rematch with mandatory challenger Briton Tyson Fury in February after their last clash ended in a draw.

Whyte will become the mandatory challenger after that fight, with the incumbent WBC champion to face Whyte by February 2021.
