I saw Punta Ventana collapsed because of the quake....that sucks to lose a beautiful bit of nature like that, but this is life on Earth.

Well... not a lot to do, Lyle. Basically just hope we don't get slammed by any more big earthquakes. Also hoping the government gets to work in the long, tedious (but necessary) process of strengthening the electrical infrastructure, which seems to be knocked to the mat every time we have a natural disaster.

Yeah... the loss of Punta Ventana was sad to see. Still shaking my head at the newness of it all, though fully aware we actually live in an active seismic region.

This thread went a little random gumbo for a sec . Absolute horror of permanence that is upon Australia. I’ve been stuck in rolling canyon fires that look like an errant ember compared. Good luck with the rumbling hills in Puerto Rico Tito

Yeah... a bit of derailment is par for the course on most threads around here.

One dead Iranian general is big news, but right now I'm sure the people of Australia and here in P.R. have a bit more pressing matters to think about.

Anyway, I hope the recent rains have alleviated some of the situation in Australia. Damn... you'd think these fires have to finally peter out sometime. What a mess that has been.

Haven't heard much from Andre lately. I hope he and his family are ok.

As for me, I'm grateful every day that we live in the part of P.R. that we live. The most we have to worry about now are the power outages that still come and go.

But that's nothing compared to the suffering by many in the SW part of the island, where aftershocks are still going on, and people are outside living in tents and sleeping on the ground. It totally sucks.

They say the aftershocks should last through the middle of next week. When it stops shaking it won't be a moment too soon.

Just felt another one, accompanied by the swaying of my computer screen. Come to find out it was a 6.0 quake in the same area that has been riddled by earthquakes for the last two weeks.

Damn! Can't wait for this shit to stop!

Thanks Alpha. We don't agree on a few things..... but I appreciate the sentiment. We're ok, and hopefully the quakes and their aftershocks are tapering off.
