"Andy Ruiz Jr. no longer with trainer Manny Robles"

Rumor has it Manny forcibly rammed a few hundred pounds of food down Andy's throat. No wonder he got rid of him.

What is it with these modern Mexican fighters anyway? One of them eats steaks from 'roided cows..... the other eats whole 'roided cows.

I yearn for the days of Barrera, Finito and Marquez.

Sounds like Uncle Al had a say too. Ruiz needs some serious self insight and critical thinking. Robles was with you when you 'shook up the world' too. Andy had it right the first time manning up and owning 'three months of partying...' Might be tough finding a top trainer who want's to tie onto that last effort

Ruiz has only himself to blame for not being fit for the fight. Training at home for the biggest fight of his career is amateurish. Changing trainer does not matter as much as changing his attitude and mind set to the profession.

Ruiz was naive and blew his preparation big time. You don't do that when you're heavy weight champion.

I do have some sympathy though as he went from a nobody to the most talked about fighter on the planet. Must've been hard to adjust with all the offers coming in and the money.

He has the talent we know that. Up to him to get back in the mix.

I think he is a Chesney Hawk, a one hit wonder and was lucky to be at the right place right time to beat a subdue AJ.

I can’t see him ever winning a major title again.

He could have literally not done anything between the first and second fight (weight being the same)and been more of a threat. Now, it's the trainers fault he was lazy, pissed away his money and packed on the weight? Classic example of a guy that is destined for mediocrity. A trainer can show you what to do but you gotta walk that walk.

Seems like a cool nice guy and all but I can't have sympathy for this dude. not on something like this. It's not like he was born with a silver spoon up his a$$ or something and never knew disappointment. He worked construction with his father and started his career in Mexico. He could have taken the money spent on the Rolls and hired a fitness coach. If you don't have enough faith to invest in yourself, How can you expect anyone else to? Is he gonna try to go back to Freddy now?
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Freddy Trained him before. Not sure why they split or who initiated it. Could be the usual with Freddy. If you're not on the top tier, you're not going to get as much coddling and hand holding unless the coach sees something in you. Its like that in many gyms.

Wasn't he supposed to have a meet with Teddy Atlas this week? Seems like an odd personality pairing but I have no doubt Teddy would slap the box of Krispy Kreme right out of his hand and get in his face.
