Unhappy Ricardo Mayorga hospitalized after receiving savage beating

I haven't seen any news links in English, but it appears Mayorga was assaulted and severely beaten in his native Nicaragua on Wednesday by an undetermined number of suspects who wanted to rob him of his possessions. He was beaten on the head and body with a metal pipe, and remains in critical condition at a local hospital. Just saw it on Facebook, but very little other details.

Very sad news to hear this, and I hope he pulls through and makes a full recovery. I also feel for his family and loved ones, who must be suffering a great deal.

I hope they catch the criminals that did this.

why couldn't it have been broner?
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Can't seem to find any consistent info just scrambled pieces. One translated page said he's already been released and other chatter he may have put hands on someone's family member. Can't argue with the x rays Rosendo Alvarez posted on fb with broken shoulder that something real nasty happened though. Weird, not a single report by media in the States.

It is strange that no Stateside news coverage has come out on this yet. I've seen the following links, which unfortunately are in Spanish. But they all seem to support the story of Mayorga getting assaulted with a metal pipe and being hospitalized.

He could have died. I can imagine Nicaragua is a very dangerous place. Blessings goes out to El Matador.

That's wrong. His record should now read 32-13-1

But best wishes to Manny Pacquiao's father. I hope he recovers

No. I'm just joking. But look most normal people who encounter a group of thugs armed with baseball bats would give up their possessions.

But this is Ricardo Mayorga we're talking about.

He probably thought he could take 'em all out like Jackie Chan.

Those punks deserve street justice and I'm pretty sure he has the right connects to make it happen. You can bet the house hes gonna go for some cold hard revenge

"Ricardo Mayorga Recovering After Severe Beating By Robbers"

Wow finally a news article about it in English. Wonder why it took them so long to report on this story........

Anyway, yeah you might be right Denilson. He just may have the street connections to make these thugs pay.

You're also right in that he may have resisted and tried to take them down.

Kinda foolish in hindsight.... as he could've easily gotten killed.

News on this incident has flowed like mud. I don't understand why that would be the case. In any case, it appears they've captured a couple of suspects in the beating. It appears to have been basically a robbery.

As for Ricardo himself, he's been discharged from the hospital.

Couple of savages. Hopefully Mayorga will be okay. I respect any man that insults Oscar DelaHoya.

Calling him a poof while wearing the gayest outfit in history. It deserves respect.

It was inspiring and credit where credit is due, he had the Gaydar in full prophecy mode with the eventual leaked photos.
