Default They keep forgetting Andy Ruiz... ffs!

These sportscasters and pundits keep forgetting that Andy Ruiz kicked Anthony Joshua's ass. Like, they have these conversations about megafights with Fury, Wilder, and AJ... they keep forgetting Ruiz kicked AJ's ass. Worse than Fury beat Wilder.

Perhaps Ruiz should fight Wilder or Fury. I would like to see that. He can do it!

Ruiz should be forgotten for his inept performance against AJ in their rematch. He let himself down and has no one else to blame for coming into the fight over weight.

He did let himself down though I have some slight sympathy that he went from a nobody to heavyweight champion of the world - rags to riches and got distracted for a while. He was unheard of outside of keen fight fans.

Still no excuse for coming in out of shape but I hope he can come again. He has the skill set just got to apply himself.

That was more of a beatdown than this. When I think beatdown it is a classic Tyson murder or a Calzaghe Lacy. Fury fought well but it was neither of those.

Haha! I think you meant "loser", though. Otherwise they'll be fighting over who took the dive first. Purse like that can wreck a man's fortune.

Ruiz can fight no doubting that, but you wonder whether he wants it. He worked his way into his title chance against Parker and fluffed it, didn't work hard enough, forget the robbery crap, he took half the fight off and let Parker take it. Ruiz lost more than Parker won. Give him his due he put it all together for the AJ fight, turned him over good style. In the rematch he reverted to type, not doing enough, not taking it seriously enough. Unless someone chooses him and delivers another golden opportunity into his lap you wonder whether he's got the desire to work his way back into contention without slipping up against someone he really ought to be beating.

I would add another consideration which is the paying public.

In any other profession, including the entertainment business, the paying public rightfully expects a good, honest effort in there. Whether you're a singer, dancer, or major sports figure.... you're expected not only to perform to the best of your ability, but to train like you mean it. Ruiz did neither. He made a mockery of his second fight vs AJ, and laughed all the way to the bank. How do you reward someone like that with yet another big payday?

Ruiz should be forgotten. He simply cheated the paying public out of their money.

Undoubtedly a talented fighter, but lazy and not committed enough to a dangerous sport. There is no way an elite athlete should look like he does, and there is no excuse for his weight in the Joshua rematch

I can agree with all that, but outside of the title picture, I would still like to see Ruiz against anyone else. Him against Wilder would be a very interesting fight with basically everything at stake.. was talk of him against Ortiz recently, that'd be good too.

No, the destruction of Joshua will remain in my memory forever. Far more memorable than Joshua jabbing a blob for 12 rounds.

In saying that, he does have a lot to prove. He needs to work his way back and show he means it and is not a flash in the pan. That means a year of solid fights meaning wins and then maybe he is back in the picture.

I remember Lewis coming in heavy and ill prepared for Rahman - even filming Ocean's 11 the week before in Vegas and not being in S Africa preparing himself for fighting at altitude.

We forgave him so let's give Andy another chance.

Still not forgiving Haye for conning us all and getting a second Bellew fight mind....
