    Default Great Sporting Moments

    Clips of great sporting moments.

Always loved middle and long distance races for the tactical/stamina element. Could have had so many here Ovett,Coe, Bannister,Farah but going to open up with an American . 1972 Olympics. David Wottle.

If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?

    Black Power Salute.

John Carlos (Bronze) Tommie Smith (Gold) held up their black-gloved fists in a Black Power salute as the US national anthem played.

The FBI followed Carlos for five years after that. No one would give him a coaching job.

    As Malcolm X says

Last minute goal to win title.

Even though it was in 1989. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 8 years old. Big Liverpool supporter (Still am). All Liverpool had to do to win the Title was not lose by 2 clear goals. At that time it was very rare Liverpool even lost, never mind by two goals.

But Arsenal went 1 - 0 nil up. It got to the 92 minute. There must have been less than 30 seconds on the clock then this happened

    Secritariet

The USA has 3 major races that make the Triple crown. Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the Belmont. Secriteriat is one of the few horses thats won the Triple crown and the record time he set in the Belmont and Preakness in 1973 still stands today.

In fact he did something that no racehorse does. That is go faster throughout the race.

A horse first section of the race is always faster than his second. In fact it's the same for humans. De-celaration is the norm

But in secretariats case he was getting faster.

Each of the five sectional times in the race was faster than his previous sectional. That basically means when was passed the post he was about to take off lol

    First Sub 2 hour maratthon

Eluid KipChoge running the first sub two hour marathon. Fucking incredible. Just go on the treadmill and crank it up 13mph or 21kph and no one in Saddo could last a minute. So for him to do it for two hours ?

    Best Catch I've ever seen
