Apparently it’s 50/50 for today. My guess is it will be cancelled as they will want to be as careful as possible. I do hope to watch this m

It really is. Granted they have a long way to go but it’s great to see success this far along. Amazing to see that booster return to earth the way it does. Elon put together a hell of a team of engineers. My wife was actually in discussions with a company she decided she didn’t want to pursue the job as it would involve training the astronauts on a certain tech but on 3rd shift. She didn’t like the idea of having to work those hours. Damn I’d love to meet an astronaut let alone spend some time working with them.

Any idea how long they're scheduled to stay up? That would have been awesome to be that close to the programs. My Father got to do some work on some of the Project Gemini crafts when he was metalsmithing when Uncle Sam first got ahold of him. Took a lot of pride in that leading up to 69'.

I think I read they will be at the station for 3 months. Damn so your pops worked for project Gemini? Does your family have any heirlooms from his involvement? Pretty damn cool to say you were involved in the early days.

Anyway about 19 hours till they dock with the station. The station is moving at 17k mph and they have to dock with the pressure of a kiss. I imagine a lot can go wrong

I remember as a kid he had some huge on site pics I believe of 4 and 5, crews shaking hands with the command pilots and such. He looked like a little kid meeting Santa ffs . I even brought the Apollo framed shots to school once for show and tell lol. Those shots of early astronauts were so damn distinguished, beaming with pride. The entire project really motivated the branches of service. We were able to salvage his project service ribbons for both the USN and USAF and my sister has a single small plaque from the work they did but everything else was lost to 'Michael'. Still though, awesome memories.

When I saw the interior where the crew sits and noticed it’s loaded with touchscreens, kind of like sitting in an iPhone it made me think how much more computing power the iPhone I’m using has than the Gemini and Apollo missions. I don’t think they can even be compared in numbers. I get torn on the space program as it is a very big expenditure and we have a shitload of people hurting down here on the ground and yet it is a noble effort
